JAF

2021-12-31 09:00:11 | 日記
Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

I am a JAF member.
JAF means JAPAN AUTOMOBILE FEDERATION.
When I get into a car accident or car trouble,
I can call a service staff to help me.

I haven’t had the chance to use this service
because my car hasn't broken down yet.

But yesterday, I called a JAF staff for the first time
because my motorbike didn’t start.

One hour later, a staff came over.
My motor bike's battery was dead.
He kindly charged the battery and my motorbike recovered.

The service was for free because I usually pay a member fee.
If I was not a member, it would cost very much.
For the first time, I felt glad to be a JAF member.

Reflection on this year

2021-12-30 09:00:11 | 日記
Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

We have only two days left this year.
I have been reflecting on some things this year.

1.Work
Before, my main job was conducting business trainings
but I didn’t have many opportunities because of the pandemic.
Instead, I tried to support small businesses to help submit
business plans and get subsidies from the government.
My clients successfully received subsidies and I also got
fees from them.
Next year, if we will not be able to solve the pandemic problem
soon, I will continue to do the same work.

2.Family
My wife, my son, our dog, and I were fine.
Nobody suffered from any illnesses.
I hope everyone will be fine the next year too.

3.My hobby
I discovered a new hobby this year. It’s motorbiking.
Suddenly, I wanted to ride a motorbike and bought it.
It’s fun for me to ride it and to feel fresh wind directly.
I hope I can go to several places by motorbike while being
careful on the road next year too.

Jogging

2021-12-29 09:58:04 | 日記
Hi there. Jun Tomioka here.

Recently, I’m conscious about my weight.
Since I was bustling, I tended to lack exercise.
I decided to restart jogging.

Just after getting up in the morning, I go out and jog.
It’s very cold. The temperature is around three degrees.
But after I jog for 10 minutes, I get used to the cold.

When I expose my face and body to sunshine, I feel good.
They say that sunshine gives us energy by serotonin.

I have continued to jog for the straight five days.
I hope I will keep on this routine and lose my weight.

Pastoral

2021-12-28 08:58:31 | 日記
Hi there. Jun Tomioka here.

My new client gave me a sample their product.
They produce ‘Shochu’ which is one of the Japanese liquors.

They chose the brand name ‘Denen’ which means 'pastoral'
in English. The reason behind it is interesting.

There is a very famous music ‘The Pastoral Symphony’ composed
by Beethoven.
While producing the liquor, they play music in the factory.
They think the liquor becomes good by doing it.

I tried to drink Denen while listening to The Pastoral Symphony.
It tasted mellow and I liked it.

I will try to make efforts to support the company as much as
possible.

Highball

2021-12-27 08:59:53 | 日記
Hi there. Jun Tomioka here.

Highball is a mixed alcoholic drink composed of whisky and
carbonated water. In Japan, it’s popular nowadays.

By the way, do you know the origin of highball?
They say that there are three theories.

1.Golf Theory
One day, a man was drinking whisky and soda in a golf course
in Scotland. At that time, a golf ball flew over him.
So, this drink was named ‘Highball’.

2.Signal Theory
In the 19th century, the railway’s signaling system is manually
operated by men. If the train is ready to go, the person-in-charge
will raise the balloon. If the train needs to stop, he will put
the balloon down.
One of the person-in-charge liked whiskey and soda.
Whenever he's drunk, he always said "Highball!"

3.Bubble Theory
When bubbles of soda go up, they looked like balls.
So, the drink was called ‘Highball’.

Which theory do you like best?
I like ‘Signal Theory’.
