Power of Three

Yesterday, I conducted a business training in a company.
The subject was “Presentation”.

There is a theory called “Power of Three” in presentation.
It’s a way to speak understandably.
What you should do is to summarize your topic into three points.

You can say “There are three reasons.”
or “I will tell you three points.”

Three is very effective number for our communication.
It’s easier for us to remember 3 words like“1,2,3”,”A,B,C”.

If you have an opportunity to make a speech, try this method.
You will become a better speaker. I promise you.

PCR TEST

Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, I took a PCR Test for the first time.
My client asked me to do it because I was going to
conduct a seminar in the company.

I tried to find a place near my home where I can take a test.
I found a good place. It was located in the Haneda Airport.
I went there by my motor bike.
Since I like to ride a bike and see airplanes, it was fun for me.

The place was a little bit crowded.
Although I had no plan to travel, other people might be tourists.
After I filled out some documents, a staff gave me a container.
I put my saliva into it and submitted it to a staff.

Three hours later, an email came to me.
The result was negative.
I was relieved.
I will be able to go out and work without hesitation.

Buddhist memorial service

Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, we had Buddhist memorial service for my father
who passed away 7 years ago.
Due to the pandemic, only my mother, my sister and her husband,
my wife and my son, and myself attended it.

We listened to Buddhist sutra and a priest’s speech.
He said, some people omit these memorial services recently.
Some of them omit even a funeral since they are conscious
about its cost.
It’s sad. Everyone has to thank the person who took care of them.

After the service, we had lunch and talked about the memories
of my father.
Next time, we will have the 13th anniversary.

Digital Sax

I read an article about a digital sax.
This is a saxophone made by using digital technology
and you can adjust the volume.
This product made by YAMAHA seems to be sold very well
all over the world.

Due to the pandemic, it’s difficult for musicians to
practice together.
Even if they want to practice alone at home, they are
conscious of the volume.

YAMAHA has been manufacturing music instruments for a long time.
Thanks to these experiences, the sound is similar to the natural one.

Basic Income

Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Do you know “Basic Income”?
It is the system that the government pay some money to all nations
to live at least.

Some economists insist we should adopt this system.
In the near future, AI(Artificial Intelligence) will be developed
and many people will lose their jobs.
They can live with Basic Income even if they don’t work.

There are arguments for and against introducing this system.
I don’t believe in it that much but it’s not bad if it’s possible.
