Share a taxi

2021-10-31 10:31:22 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I read a newspaper and found an article that the government allowed
a taxi’s new service called “Ainori”.

Ainori means sharing a taxi.
When you and your friends ride on the same taxi, it’s no problem.
But you and others were not allowed to ride on the same taxi
in the past.
It will be allowed from next month all over Japan.

But there is a rule.
You have to book a taxi by using an app.
If you book a taxi and another person also book a taxi to
the same direction, you and the other person must agree
to take the taxi together to use the service.

It seems a little bit complicated, especially for people who
are not good at using smart phones.

I am also not familiar with handling apps and seldom use a taxi.
I will see the situation for a while.

Moving of offices

2021-10-30 08:00:45 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I had an opportunity to talk to a person who works in a real
estate agency.
I asked him how his business was. He answered he was busy.

Due to the pandemic, many office workers stayed home and worked
there. They realized they were able to do their tasks though the
internet.

Many companies no longer need bigger spaces since most of their
employees work from home so they're looking for smaller spaces.

In Japan, the population are decreasing.
And also, people who commute are decreasing.
The owners of office building might be worried about their
future.

Self-respect

2021-10-29 14:58:53 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I read a book titled “The way of thinking of the people who are
well off”written by Mr. Jerry Minchinton.

He says, we should have self-respect to enjoy our life.
If we lack it, we cannot behave with confidence and don’t feel happy.
This book describes 100 hints to have self-respect.

He especially emphasizes “Don’t compare yourself with others.
It’s non-sense. You should like yourself”.

I agree with him.
Even if nobody praises me, I always want to praise my efforts.

Princess Mako

2021-10-28 09:58:53 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Princess Mako and Mr. Kei Komuro finally got married.
Congratulations!

They announced their engagement in 2017.
But a few months later, the media began reporting
about a financial dispute between Mr. Komuro’s mother
and her former fiancé.

The media and some citizens criticized that scandal.
The royal family had to extend their marriage.

It’s been four years since then.
Mr. Komuro will go to New York to get a license as a lawyer.
If he'll pass the licensure examination, he'll start to work
in New York.

Some Japanese were against their marriage. She was told to
leave the imperial family. But she refused to receive the offer
(140 million Yen).

I respect their strong intention.
I hope they will enjoy their new life as a newly wed couple
in New York.

Beautiful Boy

2021-10-27 08:22:36 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

The other day, I watched a movie entitled “Beautiful Boy”.
It was a true story between a son and his father.

The son was a clever and handsome young man, so his father
was proud of him. But after entering college, he began to
use drugs and became addicted to it.

His father tried to make some efforts to help his son
like giving advices and finding rehabilitation centers for him.
But whenever the son got hospitalized he escaped all the time.

He almost died by taking too much drugs but miraculously
he didn't.

At the end of the movie the subtitles said, “He has not used
any drugs for the past eight years and he is now working
as a normal person. The number one cause of death under 50 years
old in the USA is using too much drugs.”

I was shocked to know how terrible the effects of drugs
and I hope the use of it will be regulated strictly.
