New Convenience Stores

2021-11-30 08:28:00 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I found an article about convenience stores in a newspaper.

Family Mart opened an unmanned convenience store next to a
post office in Saitama Prefecture.

Usually, one store needs two staff at least.
In this new store, instead of staff, there are 20 cameras,
sensors for shelves, and registers which read prices of products
automatically.

The president of Family Mart announced they would aim to open
1000 unmanned stores by 2024.

Seven-Eleven’s strategy is a little bit different.
They developed “Smart Phone Register”.
Customers can read bar cords of products by their smart phones
and pay automatically. The burden of staff will reduce very much
and they can spare time to communicate with customers.

Anyway, I hope convenient stores will be more convenient in the
near future.

Nomura’s Children

2021-11-29 08:32:19 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

A professional baseball team, Yakult Swallows got the championship
by beating ORIX Buffaloes in Japan Series Game.

Swallows was in the lowest position in the Central League last season
but became the No.1 team in Japan this season. It’s miracle!

The manager of the team is Mr.Takatsu.
They say that he is one of Nomura's children.
Mr.Nomura used to be a good baseball player and manager who achieved
many great results especially when he trained many players and some
of them became managers now.

Although Mr.Nomura passed away, Nomura's children have been taking over
his legacy and doing well in a professional baseball field.

Mr.Shinjo who will manage Nippon Ham Fighters next season for
the first time is also one of Nomura's children.
It seems that professional baseball will become interesting
next season.

Too many contents

2021-11-28 07:27:05 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, I conducted a seminar for unexperienced consultants.
The theme was “Presentation”.

After I watched the videos of their three minutes presentations,
I gave them advice.

I emphasized “Be careful of too many contents”.
We tend to speak many things but most audiences cannot understand
them easily. You should rather focus on one topic. And if you
explain the details about the topic, it’s easier to understand.

That’s a very important point when we make a presentation.

Food loss

2021-11-27 08:28:01 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I was conscious about food loss and searched it through the
website of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The amount of food loss in Japan is 25 million 310 thousand tons
per one year. Out of this, 6 million tons of food are disposed
although they are consumable. This amount means 47 kg per one Japanese.
This means that all Japanese throw away the same amount of one cup of
rice every day.

Food loss which is eatable is divided two categories.
One is business food loss and it occupies 54%. Another one is
home food loss and it occupies 46%.

What should we do to reduce food loss ?
When we buy food in shops, let’s buy the products whose exspired date
is close and eat as soon as possible.
Even if we realized some scratches or stains on the package, let’s
buy them since the contents are no problem.
When we go to the restaurant, let’s not leave the food.

Let’s thank the people who produce and provide food to us every day!

New corona virus

2021-11-26 08:28:35 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

The situation of the new corona virus is stable in Japan so far.
The number of new patients all over Japan was 75 people yesterday.
In Tokyo, only five people were infected yesterday.
Some prefectures have no infections.

South Korea is next to Japan.
They are struggling with this problem.
Over 4000 people are infected per one day.
The population of South Korea is half of Japan.
The percentage of people already vaccinated in South Korea is 79.1%.
It’s 76.4% in Japan.

Why are there few people infected in Japan?
Nobody knows it.
But I hope this situation will continue and we will be able to
solve this problem completely.
