避雷針は誘雷針

　避雷針は雷を避けるのではなく、実は雷を呼び寄せるのだという話をある企業の社長から聞いた。雷はマイナスの電気の集合なので、プラスの電気の集合に引き付けられるが、地面に接続された避雷針には地面からプラスの電気が流れてくるという。
　そこで、その企業ではマイナスの電気を避雷針に供給して落雷しない避雷針を開発したとの事であった。
　避雷針が雷を呼び寄せ、落雷確率が上がると、誘導電流によるITシステムの損傷が問題となる。

　温暖化で落雷が多くなっているような気がするが、落雷対策を再検討した方が良いかも知れない。

 

A lightning rod is a lightning induction rod

　I heard from a company president that a lightning rod actually attracts lightning instead of avoiding it. Since lightning is a collection of negative electricity, it is attracted to a collection of positive electricity, but positive electricity flows from the ground to the lightning rod connected to the ground.
　Therefore, the company developed a lightning rod that supplies negative electricity to prevent lightning strikes.
　When lightning rods attract lightning and increase the probability of lightning strikes, damage to IT systems due to induced currents becomes a problem.

　I feel that the number of lightning strikes is increasing due to global warming, but it may be better to reconsider the measures against lightning strikes.
