The War of the Ring : Chapter 1: Minas Tirith続き
ミナス・ティリスに到着したガンダルフとピピンが，デネソールとお話する所，ここいらはいろいろ場面は変わっているものの，映画でもセリフは比較的原作に忠実な所が多いです。そこで，映画のマネをして音読を楽しんだりとかします。
例えば下のガンダルフのセリフとか，
ピピンの誓いの言葉ももう出てきちゃいました。
（う～～ん，映画の倍くらい長いなあ～（笑））
そしてデネソール侯，

そしてデネソール侯，
"And this do I hear, Denethor son of Ecthelion, Lord of Gondor, Steward of the High King, and I will not forget it, nor fail to reward that which is given: fealty with love, valour with honour, oath-breaking with vengeance."
FOTRのバルログ戦でのガンダルフの台詞とか、鼻血が出るかと思いました。
LOTRで人の名前を呼ぶシーンって、鎌倉時代の合戦中の名乗りを思わせる長ったらしさで、それが超かっこイイ♡
英語圏の人に言わせれば、ただのオールドファッションな言い方なのかもしれないけれど、スタイリッシュにさえ感じます。
