To the Candidates of the National Guide Interpreter Examination of Hello Guide Academy
My dear friends,
I understand that many of you will be taking the National Tour Guide Interpreter Examination this August. I’d like to extend my heartfelt best wishes to each of you for success.
With the number of international visitors to Japan growing at an extraordinary pace, your role as interpreters has never been more vital. You are not only bridging languages—you are bridging cultures. You are the civilian ambassadors who help foster mutual understanding, learning, and friendship between nations.
This year, I turned 75, but I continue to remain fully active in running the Virgin Group across the globe. My passions now lie in areas such as environmental sustainability, space exploration, and philanthropy. I intend to keep pushing forward with purpose and enthusiasm until my very last day.
So to all of you, I say: be bold, be curious, and be ambitious. The world needs people like you—open-minded, passionate, and committed to connecting people across borders.

日本を訪れる外国人観光客の数は驚くべきスピードで増え続けています。皆さんが担う役割は、言語の壁を越えるだけでなく、文化と心をつなぐことにあります。皆さんは民間の親善大使として、国際的な理解と友情を育む大切な存在なのです。
私は今年で75歳になりましたが、今も世界中のヴァージン・グループの事業に積極的に関わり続けています。現在は、環境保護、宇宙開発、そして社会貢献活動に強い関心を持って取り組んでいます。そして、自分の最後の日まで、情熱を持って前進し続けるつもりです。
どうか皆さんも、大きな志を持ち、国や人々を越えて、相互理解とつながりを築く役割を担ってください。
