アベックでお参りすると、分かれることになるのか？こんぴらさのはなし

難しい質問です。そうだともいえるし、そうでないともいえる。
どうしても分かれたくない、けれども一度は一緒に行ってみたいというカップルは、この後を読んでほしい。
まず、神様はどなたであるかを知らなくてはいけません。「おおものぬしのおおかみ」がここの神様の名前です。男の神様です。出雲神社の神様は「おおくにぬしのみこと」ですが、同じ神様のことで、当地での呼び名が、上の通りです。男の神様なので、奥さんがいました。その奥さんも神様になっていまして、ちかくの祠でまつらています。うわさによれば、この女の神様が、やきもちを焼くらしいのです。自分のことを人々が無視するのを快く思っていないらしい。これが、カップルが分かれることになる原因と考えられます。したがって、近くにある、その社にもお参りするのが、不幸を呼び込まない、ポイントです。
ここでもう一つ言及しなければならないことがあります。この神社には、崇徳天皇も合祀されているということ。崇徳天皇は７５代の天皇。父親が鳥羽で、崇徳、後白河は兄弟。
鳥羽は崇徳を嫌って、崇徳に天皇を退位させ（上皇になる）、弟の後白河を天皇にした。鳥羽亡き後、崇徳上皇と後白河天皇の間で争うが生まれた。これが、保元の乱（１１５６年）です。崇徳が負けて、讃岐に送られた。この地で崇徳は人々に愛されたことは理解できます。なぜ鳥羽は崇徳を嫌ったのか？鳥羽からすれば、自分の子であるとなっているが、実は自分の祖父の白河の子だとのうわさがあったらしい。

The deity of this shrine is widely known for the one for safety on the sea,
fertility and medicine.Its name is "Oomono-nushi-no-ookami,"which is the same diety of Izumo Shrine,called "Ookuni-nushi-no-mikoto".They are ddifferent from ewach other only in the way they are called.It is a male deity. His wife is also enshrined in the precincts. But all the people don't pay their respects to it. Some say the female deity may be jealous type.Then a couple who want to get along well with each othe foreever, I think ,should pay respect not only to the main shrine but also to the small shrine dedicated to the female deity.Another information I want to add to ,is that the main shrine is also dedicated to the soul of the 75th Emperor Sutoku. After he defeated in the war aginst the Emperor Go-shirakawa at the time of his being Joko in 1156, he was expelled from the then capital,Kyoto, to Sanuki Province.Th fact that the soul of him is enshrined here means that people around there loved him very much in those days.

”こんぴら犬”って知っていますか？

参道を登って行く途中に、見逃すかも知れないくらいのですが、小さな犬の像があります。首のところに赤い色の袋を提げている。これが、”こんぴら犬”とよべれているものです。
There was a legend that dogs came and paid respects to the Deity( 神）on behalf of their keepers.In the bag hanging from a dog's neck was journey's expenses. What is journey's expenses? I wondered why and telephoned the shrine's office.A young female staff said to me because dog had to ride on boats on its way here,and also had to eat food. People take money from the bag.it is said that thanks offering for the year's first harvests is in the bag. I came to love this story. Please look at Konpira Dog next time.

What is ”５人百姓（五人びゃくしょう）”？

金刀比羅宮神社（Kotohira-gu jinjya)の本宮に参拝するには石段を７８５段登ります。神社は象頭山（ぞうずさん）の山腹中ほどににあります。３６５段の石段を登ると大門があり、そこを過ぎたあたりにで、５人の女性が飴を売っています。

For reaching the main shrine of Kotohira-gu Shrine, You have to climb up 785 stone steps. The shrine is located in the middle of the mountain called "Zozu-san",or an-Elephant-Head-like Mountain,which is so called because its shape resembles an elephant's head.Just arouf the place after you pass O-mon,or Great Gate, located at 365th stone steps, you can see five women ,who are selling candies,sitting on "tatami' mats under umbrella.This comes from the system called "Five Farmers",which was established in old days. Basicaly, in old days, in the precincts of th eshrine, any business tarde was not permited. Only five farmers were aloowed to trade there.So the five women you see on the way to the main shrine is its remaining activities.Every day, they change the location of their sitting there because they think sales opportunity should be
equalized.
