黄禍論と白禍論

　黄禍論は聞いた事があるかも知れないが、白禍論は聞いた事がある人は少ないだろう。黄禍論は、19世紀末から主に20世紀前半にかけて、主に欧米で唱えられたアジア人(黄色人種)脅威論である。
　日露戦争で日本が勝利した事にショックを受けて、これが契機となり、白人による植民地政策が東洋の日本人（黄色人種）により止められた事で、唱えられ始めたと言われている。

　しかしながら、歴史の実態を観察すると、白人による災害は黄色人種による災害の比ではない。コロンブスのアメリカ大陸発見以降のアメリカ侵略、奴隷貿易、アジアの植民地化等、多くの例を挙げる事が出来る。
　悪い過去は早く忘れたいものであるが、現代は白禍の延長線上にある事だけは忘れてはなるまい。

Yellow Peril and White Peril
　You may have heard of the yellow peril, but I believe that few people have heard of the white peril. The yellow peril is a threat idea of Asians (yellow race) that was advocated mainly in Europe and the United States from the end of the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century.
　Shocked by Japan's victory in the Russo-Japanese War, it is said that this triggered the colonial policy by white people to be stopped by the Japanese (yellow race) of the East, and it began to be advocated.

　However, when observing the reality of history, the disasters caused by the white race are far more numerous and greater than those caused by the yellow race. Many examples can be given such as the invasion for America after the discovery of America by Columbus, the slave trade, and the colonization of Asia.
　We want to forget the bad past as soon as possible, but we must not forget that the present age is an extension of the White Peril.
