温暖化対策が絶望的に進まない原因
温暖化が進んでいる。一般市民も企業も政府もそれなりに温暖化対策が為されている。
ゴミの分別回収やペットボトルの回収とリサイクル、エコバッグの活用やシェアリング・エコノミー等々、環境保全の取り組みは、企業レベル、市民レベルで出来る範囲で行われている。
更に、持続可能な社会建設のために、SDGｓが唱えられ、多くの企業で地球環境保護のための部門を設けている。
しかしながら、強い強制力もなく、資本主義市場に委ねている現行のあり方で、地球温暖化の荒波を乗り越える事が出来るのだろうか？地球環境という公共財は現在のところ、多く使った者が得する事になっている。エネルギー効率の良い社会には向かっているかも知れないが、エネルギー消費は地球全体としては増大しているのだ。
一刻も早く温暖化を止めなければならない時に、具体的で安心出来るプランを人類は持っていない。では、そのようなプランを持てない理由は何か？
一つは、全平等の民主主義であろう。善も悪も、賢も愚も一票の重みが全く同じであれば、政策は最善から後退せざるを得なくなる。また、環境問題への取り組みを抑えたい企業集団は政界に圧力を掛けるだろう。
二つ目は、資本主義市場経済という邪魔者である。資本主義は、非常に強力なエンジンを持っており、広く深い恩恵を与えてはいるものの、反面、使い方を間違えれば人類に大きなダメージを与える。より良い生活を求めて人類は産業を起す際には、環境への配慮は二の次になる。
地球という生態系が許容する二酸化炭素の排出量を遥かに超えた状態を改善しないで、資本主義的なあり方を許す事は有ってはならないだろう。資本主義に大きなブレーキを掛ける必要がある。
Reasons why global warming countermeasures are hopelessly slow to progress
Global warming is progressing. The general public, companies, and governments are all taking measures to combat global warming.
Efforts to protect the environment, such as sorting and collecting garbage, collecting and recycling plastic bottles, using eco bags, and creating a sharing economy, are being carried out to the extent possible at both the corporate and citizen levels.
Furthermore, in order to build a sustainable society, the SDGs have been advocated, and many companies have established departments for protecting the global environment.
However, with the current system of leaving things to the capitalist market without strong enforcement, will it be possible to overcome the turbulent waves of global warming? Currently, the global environment is a public good that benefits those who use it the most. Although we may be moving toward a more energy-efficient society, energy consumption is increasing on a global scale.
When we need to stop global warming as soon as possible, humanity does not have a concrete plan that will give us peace of mind. So why can't we have such a plan?
One would be democracy with all equality. If each vote, good or bad, wise or foolish, had exactly the same weight, policy would have no choice but to retreat from what is best. In addition, corporate groups that want to curb efforts to address environmental issues will likely put pressure on the political world.
The second is the hindrance of the capitalist market economy. Capitalism has a very powerful engine, and although it provides wide and deep benefits to us, on the other hand, if used incorrectly, it can cause great damage to humanity. When humans create industries in search of a better life, environmental considerations become secondary.
We must not allow a capitalist system to exist without improving the situation, which far exceeds the carbon dioxide emissions that the earth's ecosystem allows. We need to put a big brake on capitalism.
