The proton emission system for cancer treatment is the strongest weapon for gathering medical tourists to Japan from the world.
I am glad for you to be modest and happy life.
I have variously studied the proton emission system for cancer treatment made by Hitachi Ltd.
Though it’s regrettable that I must omit a lot of its technical and detail information belonging to the company’s secret, first, I deeply respect that its proton emission system made by Hitachi is going to get the No.1 position in the wonderful results and fine evaluations on the most competitive, medical field in the world, especially in the USA.
It is a large fruit brought from today’s visit to the company that I have been taught that, for example, the Hitachi system can cure even skin cancer because of the company’s continuous efforts and innovations related with the methods of proton emission. Otherwise, particle emission machines made by a competitor can’t treat skin cancer owing to an old version as of how to emit proton.
In this connection, the proton emission system can’t treat organs sealed with thin skin, for example, stomach and small and large intestines, because proton beams have too strong energy as well as the “conventional” photon beams.
But the proton emission system can treat even cancers of eyes, an orbit of the eye, the esophagus, the liver, the pancreas, the rectum, bones and soft tissues which haven’t been treated due to their too deep positions in the body by the conventional photon emission system.
The proton emission machine is the greatest and has a mysterious power like God because the scope of treatment results has reached vast fields over a human body.
The number of proton emission machines including heavy (carbon) particles emission machines is about ten in each Japan, USA and Europe. But the number is still very small, especially, China, the Middle East and Russia haven’t developed any proton emission machine.
Those advanced, gigantic medical machines like proton or heavy (carbon) particle emission ones need not only huge capital funds but also a lot of medical staff like veteran doctors, medical physicians and therapists. These pile up of excellent medical doctors and technicians can only supply an advanced medical service like the proton or heavy (carbon) particle emission system.
So, for us who hope to promote medical tourism to Japan, first, the fact is very important that there isn’t any those machines in China, Russia, the Middle East or the South East Asian countries.
Second, the fact or history is extremely crucial that even USA has developed only proton emission machines. The USA hasn’t intentionally created any carbon emission machines. The reason is that hospitals wouldn’t get much money if they use proton emission machines shooting more times than carbon particles emission ones having about three times stronger (heavier) power than proton emission machines.
By the way, in the USA the medical fee is calculated by the number of emission shots of protons. So, for American hospitals it’s better for their profits to utilize proton emission machines needing more emission shots than heavy particle emission machines.
By the way, killing effects of a proton emission system against cancer cells is just 1.1 times as large as the effect of “conventional” photon emission, but the power of heavy (carbon) particles emission is about three times as the photon emission. These results are presented by a doctor at the attached hospital of Tokyo University.
First, the above situation means that Japan facilitating both systems of proton and carbon emission has very powerful weapons to invite many tourists or patients of various cancers from all of the world..
Second, powerful heavy (carbon) particles or proton emissions system can treat any cancer patient by fewer times than a “conventional” photon emission style. And more powerful carbon particles emission can kill cancer cells by fewer times than even the proton emission.
So, the medical fee in Japan is naturally apt to cost very much cheaper than that of USA. It teaches us that not a few American people will desire to come to Japanese hospitals due to receive advanced medical services and save their money.
Even private insurance companies in the USA, too, would advise for Americans to receive Japanese hospitals’ services with cheaper costs.
At the end, I will thank deeply for the kind teaching and giving useful and detail information for us by Hitachi Ltd.
Next, the medical tourism companies to invite foreign patients will have to make efforts to promote international exchanges in the field of medical services.

重粒子線治療の治療期間
がんに冒された臓器を必ずしも切除する必要はありません。がん病巣に重粒子線を照射することにより、早期の肺がんならば場合によっては1日で根治できます。重粒子線治療そのものは患者の負担が軽いので、通院でも充分治療を受けられ-ますが、検査や治療スケジュールをスムーズに実施するため、原則として入院することになっています。
通常の放射線の場合、30~40回の照射が必要ですが、(独)放射線医学総合研究所(放医研)における重粒子線の平均照射回数は13回で済んでいます。このように重粒子線ならば非常に短い期間で治療が終ります。たとえば、Ⅰ期肺がんの場合、臨床試験の始まった頃は6週間に18回でしたが、臨床試験が進むにつれて9回、4回となり、現在は1回で終る治療法が開発されています。
肝がんについても、最初は15回でしたが、その後12回、8回、4回となり、現在は2日間で2回という治療法の開発が進められています。前立腺がんについては、通常の放射線治療では40回前後の照射が必要ですが、重粒子線ならば20回で治療が終ります。
現在、放医研で行われている高度先進医療や臨床試験の対象となる部位の照射回数および治療期間は次のとおりです。
