Superior Temporal Sulcus

表情の知覚に対応する部位が上側頭溝（superior temporal sulcus: STS )において報告されてきた (Hasselmo, Rolls, & Baylis, 1989)が、一方でこの部位が目や口などの特定の顔特徴に選択的に反応することが明らかにされている（Perret, Rolls, & Caan,1982; Perret, Mistlin, & Chitty, 1987）
