fortune の発音

fortune の発音にしばらくひっかっかていたのでした。ところが、最近、「父ちゃん（とうちゃん）」のように「フォーチャン」を発音すると、どうやら自分の中でしっくりいくことに気づきました。これは私自身による工夫です。

以下はあるnarive speaker による指摘。私の以下の発音がおかしく聞こえるらしいのです。
a baundant harvest：　a bandunt がabandonedに聞こえるらしい。なので、rich を使う。母音の発音が難しい。
ritual が二音節に聞こえるらしい。３音節だといわれる。私のせっかちがなせることなのか。
foliage：li の「イ」とageの「イ」をはっきりと意識すべきだと指摘する。つまり彼らはそこの音の脱落を聞き逃さないのである。

spot の発音がはじめわからなかったといわれたときは、実は驚いた。

various kinds of butter and cheese のbutter の発音をも一度やってみてといわれたときはショックでした。batter は難しいのですが。butterに違和感をもたれるとは。中学１年生で覚えた単語なのですが。various kinds of dairy products の方が私には、簡単みたいである。一般的に、大半の日本人にとっては、dairy の発音のほうがむつかしいのです。

police station の発音で、私の喋りでは、あとのstation にアクセントを置いたらしいのですが、奇異に聞こえるといわれる。最初のpoliceにアクセントを置くべきだというのである。・・・・among them、は　them の部分を下降調にしないとおかしいと指摘する。

The U.S. government announced on the 23rd a big-scale bailout measure for the U.S. measure bank Citigroup now facing difficulty in it business operation.
Specifically, it will inject public fund worth 200 dollars (1.9 trillion yen) into the bank's capital. Another focal point of the measure is that the government will guarantee the bank's bad loans worth 360 billion dollars (about 29 trillion yen) by vowing to compensate the loss if it actually happens.This is the largest-ever support by the government as a public fund infusion for an individual financial insitution. U.S. President George W. Bush at the 24th press conference suggest the possibility that the government do the same for other financial institutions.

注：新聞の内容を英訳しようとしても中味が理解できないので、これ以上は英訳できない。要するに日本語で書かれている内容がよくわからないのである。そういうことが時々あります。
