＊比較級は日本語に訳さないで理解することをお勧めします。英語で考えるほうが分かりやすいです。
America is bigger than..... --> アメリカの方が大きい(+比べる対象）
America isn't as big as..... --> アメリカは大きくない（比べる対象）
Today is as cold as yesterday. -------> 今日は昨日と同じくらい寒い
Today isn’t as cold as yesterday. -------> 今日は昨日ほど寒くない
America isn’t as safe as Japan. --------> アメリカは日本ほど安全ではない
Your bag is as heavy as mine. ----------> あなたのバッグは私のと同じくらい重いね
Your bag looks as heavy as mine.---------> あなたのバックは私のと同じくらい重そうですね

【ほとんど】
この箱の中に、ほとんど雑誌がある------> In this box, there are mostly magazines.
手術の後、彼女はほとんど杖を使いません--------> Since her operation, she hardly uses her cane.
雨のせいで、この公園にはほとんど子供たちがいません-------> Because of the rain in this park there are hardly any children.
前のコンピューターと比べると、新しいコンピューターはほとんどインクを使いません------> Comparing to my previous computer my new printer hardly uses any ink.
