（hardly: 否定）（mostly: 肯定）

When I got my injection the nurse was so good that I hardly felt it. --------> 私が注射をしてもらったとき、看護師がとても上手だったのでほとんどそれを（注射の痛みを）感じなかった(so ~ that ...=とても～なので.....です）
During summer I mostly wear half sleeve tops. --------> 夏の間、わたしはほとんど半袖を着ます（頻度） (半袖以外も着るが、ほとんど半袖を着る、という意味。）
During summer I hardly wear socks. --------> 夏の間、私は靴下をほとんど履きません（頻度） （まれに靴下を履くこともあるが、ほとんど履かないということ）

【May I～？】許しを得る時
Can I ～？はカジュアルな言い方。友人や家族に使う
Could I ～？はお店の店員さん、目上の人にも使える
May I ～? は講師のお勧め。丁寧な言い方
May I (please) sit here? ---------> ここに座っていいですか
May I please take your picture? ----------> あなたの写真を撮ってもいいですか
May I ask (you) a question? --------> 質問していいですか
May I wait here? ----------> ここで待ってもいいですか
