Compared to A, B is/was/were/ are 形容詞

日本に住むのと比較するとアメリカは安いです/ 高くないです（生活費のこと）----->Compared to living in Japan, America is cheep. / less expensive.

以前住んでいたところと比べると今の所は静かですCompared to where I used to live, where I live now is quiet. / Compared to where I lived before where I live now is quite.
*used to の意味は以前という意味が含まれるのでbeforeを使わなくてよい
例年の冬に比べると今年の冬は暖かい------>Compared to usual winters, this year is warm.
私のアレルギーの具合に比べると、子供たちのは軽い------>Compared to my allergy condition, my children’s mild.
地震に関しては東京に住むのと比べると高崎は安全です------->When it comes to earthquakes, compared to living in Tokyo, Takasaki is safe.
