台湾有事は日本有事か？

　中国が台湾に対して不気味な行動を採っている。トランプ政見に変わってアメリカは世界の警察の立場を放棄しつつあるように見える現在、中国が台湾に攻め入った時、アメリカは台湾に味方するのだろうか？
　日本に米軍基地がある以上、米軍が中国と交戦状態になれば、否応なく日本は戦争に巻き込まれるに違いない。しかしながら、最近トランプ大統領は、アジアの平和はアジアが作るべきだとも言っており、中国と事を構える意志が無いような事も言っている。

　日本は経済的にはアメリカよりも中国との結びつきが強くなっており、中国との交戦は避けたいところだろう。
　米軍基地がある事が日本が戦争に巻き込まれる重大要因であるなら、米軍に撤去してもらえばどうだろうか？非常に勇気が要る選択肢だが、非戦の憲法を持つ国であるなら、平和の為にはそれ位の覚悟が必要ではなかろうか？
　また、アメリカは戦争好きの国のように見えるので、少し離れた方が良いようにも思える。

　China is taking ominous actions against Taiwan. With the change in the Trump administration's stance, it seems that the United States is abandoning its role as the world's police force. If China were to attack Taiwan, would the United States side with Taiwan?
　As long as there are US military bases in Japan, if the US military goes to war with China, Japan will inevitably be drawn into the war. However, President Trump has recently said that peace in Asia should be created by Asia itself, suggesting that he has no intention of going to war with China.

Japan has stronger economic ties with China than with the United States, and would likely want to avoid war with China.
　If the presence of US military bases is a major factor in Japan becoming embroiled in a war, why not ask the US military to remove them? It would require a lot of courage, but as a country with a constitution that prohibits war, surely that level of resolve is necessary for the sake of peace?
　Also, America seems like a war-loving country, so it might be best to distance ourselves from it for a bit.

　関税戦争で世界が荒れている。政策の有効性の検証もせず、思いつきで他国に喧嘩を仕掛けるトランプに世界がうんざりしてきたようだ。政治に関して殆ど素人であるトランプが、周囲にイエスマンを侍らせて政治を取り仕切る光景は珍奇であると同時に、極めて危ないように思える。
　トランプは事態が思うように好転せず、政治成果が出なくても、反省する事を知らない人物なので、路線の変更は出来ないだろう。そして、いよいよどうにもならなくなった時に、人に責任を押し付けてしまうだろう。
　彼は世界を危険に導く人物なので、早く政権の座から下ろす方が良い。

Goodbye Trump!
　The tariff war is causing chaos around the world. It seems like the world is getting fed up with Trump, who picks fights with other countries on a whim without even verifying the effectiveness of his policies. It is strange and at the same time extremely dangerous to see Trump, who is practically an amateur when it comes to politics, surrounding himself with yes-men to run the country.
　Even if things don't improve as expected and Trump doesn't achieve any political results, he is a man who does not know how to reflect on things, so he will not be able to change course. And when things get out of hand, he will likely try to push the responsibility onto others.
He is a man who is leading the world into danger, so it would be better to remove him from power as soon as possible.

　トランプ氏が関税を玩具のようにして弄んでいる。世界各国の反応や対応は様々だが、反米の機運が盛り上がりつつあるある。融和と協調的姿勢を放棄し、優先的立場を乱用するアメリカに対して世界の多くの国が、米国外しで協力し合う様になったら、アメリカはどの様に対応するのだろうか？
　既に多くの経済の専門家から異常の烙印を押されているが、この先トランプ氏は行き詰まり、国の内外から袋叩きに合うだろう。
　トランプ氏は自身の考えと違う人材を重用できない人物で、周りをイエスマンで固めてしまったと聞いているが、この人選の時点で彼は確実に失敗する事が決まったようなものであろう。
　最早アメリカに寄り添う必要はない。

　Trump is playing with tariffs like a toy. Countries around the world are responding in various ways, but anti-American sentiment is on the rise. How will the United States respond if many countries around the world start cooperating with each other outside the United States, as the United States has abandoned its conciliatory and cooperative stance and abused its dominant bargaining position?
　Trump has already been branded as abnormal by many economic experts, but from here on out he will likely find himself in a deadlock and facing criticism both at home and abroad.
　I have heard that Trump is someone who cannot cherish people who think differently from him, and has surrounded himself with yes-men, but from this point on, it seems that his failure was already decided.
　There is no need to lean closer to America any more.

　温暖化は洪水や旱魃を多数現出し、農作物の収量を減らしていくだろう。すると、食料の獲得を巡って争いに繋がるに違いない。また、海水面の上昇で居住地を奪われる人達も出るだろう。他にも温暖化に起因する多くのストレスが人類に加わり、それらが社会不安を誘発し、多くの争いごとに繋がるだろう。
　この悪循環が来ない事を祈るばかりだが、今の国際政治を見ていると、悲観せざるを得ない。
　現在は、悪循環に嵌る一歩手前だと思うが、嵌ってしまえば戦国時代に突入するだろう。

　Global warming will cause many floods and droughts, reducing crop yields. This will undoubtedly lead to conflicts over food. Also, some people will lose their homes due to rising sea levels. Many other stresses caused by global warming will be added to humanity, which will induce social unrest and lead to many conflicts.
　I can only hope that this vicious cycle does not come to pass, but when I look at the current state of international politics, I cannot help but feel pessimistic.
　I think we are currently on the brink of falling into a vicious cycle, but once we do, we will likely enter a period of warring states.

トランプが炙り出した政策の継続性問題

　アメリカが関税を弄んでいる。本来、関税は真面目に取り扱うべきものであるが。トランプの場合は交渉の道具として使っており、非常に不誠実であるように思える。
　それにしても今のアメリカはどうかしている。日本の或る企業の社長がニュースで語っていた。

　「アメリカが関税を上げたからといって、事業のあり方を変える訳にはいかない。４年後、アメリカの政権が変わって関税がまた元に戻るかも知れない。関税が変わるからといって、事業のあり方をコロコロと変えられるものではない。」

　国民の多数決によって政権が変わったからといって、国際的な約束事やルールを反故にして良いものであろうか？国家の対外的な政策や条約等は、軽んじられるべきではない。

　The United States is toying with tariffs. In reality, tariffs should be treated seriously. In Trump's case, he is using them as a negotiating tool, which seems very dishonest.
　But there's something strange about America right now. The president of a Japanese company said this on the news.

　"Just because the U.S. has raised tariffs, we cannot change the way we do business. In four years, the U.S. administration may change and the tariffs may go back to their original levels. Just because tariffs change, it is not something we can just change the way we do business."

　Just because the government has changed by popular vote, is it acceptable to break international agreements and rules? A nation's foreign policies and treaties should not be taken lightly.
