MVP

2021-11-20 15:27:49 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, the MVP of the Major Baseball League in the U.S.A.
was announced. Shohei Otani from Angels was selected as the MVP
by a unanimous vote. Congratulations!

He is a batter and also pitcher.
He hit 48 homeruns as a batter and got 9 wins as a pitcher.
It’s amazing!
Nobody can do such a great achievement.

He is admired with not only achievement but his behavior.
He is always friendly with his teammates and his fans.

I am proud of him as a same Japanese.
I hope he will play well in the next season, too.

Searching for offices

2021-11-19 08:31:38 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I work as a manager of one training organization.
It has a training room now but we don’t use it much
because we usually do online trainings due to the pandemic.
We expect the situation will continue even after the pandemic.

We decided to move to a smaller office to reduce costs.
Yesterday, My co-worker and I walked around the Kanda area in Tokyo
with some information about empty offices.

It seemed that there are enough empty offices near
Kanda Station.
We are going to ask a property agent to let us see inside of
some offices next time.

We have already noticed to the owner of the present office
that we will leave by next April.

I hope we will be able to find a good office.

Coaching

2021-11-18 07:37:15 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, I conducted a business training online.
The subject was coaching.
Coaching is an important communication skill.
It’s useful when you want to communicate with your staff.
When it comes to coaching, we should do three important points.

1.acknowledgement
You should acknowledge a person’s existence.
You have to observe his or her behavior carefully and often tell
him or her some feedback.

2. listen attentively
You should listen to your staff when they are speaking.
You must not interrupt him or her even though you want to
give him or her an advice.
Learn to wait.

3.ask questions
You should ask effective questions to bring out his or her real
intentions and good solutions.
He or she can solve some problems by himself or herself.
What a coach should do is only to support him or her by asking
questions.

Appointments

2021-11-17 07:27:20 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I often have appointments with my clients and related people.
Sometimes, I feel difficulty.

If I want to have an appointment with one person, it will
not be so difficult. We can find our suitable day and time
easily.

But if I want to have a meeting with two or three people,
it will become difficult to adjust our schedules.
And furthermore, if I want to have another meeting, the
situation will become complicated.

And sometimes, after we decided the date, somebody says
it’s not convenient later.

It’s troublesome to have appointments.

Haneda Airport

2021-11-16 07:27:15 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Haneda Airport is near my house and
yesterday I went there to see airplanes and have lunch by
my motorbike. Parking lots were very busy.

When I visited there a few months ago, it was very quiet because
people didn’t move very much due to the pandemic.

But yesterday, it was crowded there.
Since the number of patients are very few recently, People seemed
to start moving.

Restaurants were also full of people.
Some people were making a line to wait to go in.

I hope the economy will recover in this situation.
