Renoir

Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Renoir is a very famous painter.
But in Japan, Renoir is well known for the name of coffee shops.
It has about 100 coffee shops in Tokyo and neighboring prefectures.

Whenever I have a meeting with a client, I use Renoir because
they are useful also for business meetings.

Since they are located near stations or in business areas,
it’s easy for us to approach.
The environment is spacious, and the atmosphere is suitable
for meetings, so we can talk comfortably.

The price of coffee is expensive.
I think it’s a strategy from the shop that we can stay for
a long time to enjoy their coffee while having meetups.

Reading comprehension

Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday was a national holiday.
I stayed home all day and helped my son study.
He is making his efforts to pass the exam for high school.

The subjects of the exam are English, Mathematics, and Japanese.
I was surprised to see a workbook of Japanese.
Writings used for questions were very difficult.
It’s not easy even for adults to understand.

We certainly need a reading comprehension skill.
When we start to work, we have to read a lot of documents
and understand them.

I encouraged my son, saying that this study will be helpful
for his future.

Business communication

Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I read a newspaper and found an article about a　business
communication.

From the article;
Due to the pandemic, the number of users of business communication
apps like ZOOM,　Chat work,　and so on is increasing tremendously.
When it comes to the schedule, many people use these services from
9 a.m.to 9 p.m. and continue even after that.
It seems that the border between on and off is becoming uncertain.

Since I am a freelancer, I don’t care about my working time basically.
Thus, I can manage both my physical and mental health.
Also, company employees should be careful about their health conditions.

Utilizing new communication tools is essentials and beneficial,
however, using them too much would also cause stress to the employees.

An Active Woman

Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I belong to a local tennis club.
When I have some free time, I enjoy playing tennis
with the members of the club.

Yesterday, I played tennis with them.
One of which was a woman who I met for the first time.

She looked old.
Of course, I didn’t ask her age, but maybe she's at least
70 years old.

But I was surprised to see her play.
She played tennis very well.
She didn’t hit a ball so strongly but played very steadily,
and rarely made mistakes.

I am also not young, and I hope I'll still enjoy tennis
when I become the same age as her.
Tennis is a good sport that we can play regardless of age.

With our dog

Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

We found a barbecue restaurant near our house and went there
yesterday. Its good point is that we can take our dog.
And food and their services were also good.

Restaurants which are available for dogs are not so many so far.
Before, when we eat out, our dog had to stay home alone.
He was very sad.

Since we realized the restaurant, we will often use it.
