This morning, I was lying down watching the recorded "Black Jack" when I saw three bird-like shapes through the blinds of the open window.
They were perched on a telephone wire, one of them preening its feathers.
As I was admiring its relaxed appearance, a swallow that seemed to be a parent flew in from the right.
During the extremely long break on the telephone line, the parent bird, which had been watching from a nearby barn, sensed the presence of a person holding a smartphone in the room and came over to encourage them to move.
Dragonflies are already flying this year. Autumn may be starting early.
