世界をReal timeでつなぐということ

 

みなさまこんにちわ。

GCSRTのassignment 1も終了して自分のリーダー&発表が終わると急にストレスから解放されて色々なことに取り組んでおります。

とはいえ、まだまだ合計5つのTeam assignment がありますし、Literature reviewをちゃんと行った上でのResearch proposalをプレゼンと提出するという課題がありますので、ほんの少しの隙間時間があれば調べ物しながらといった状況です。

３ヶ月目に入って思うことは、本当に地球の人をReal timeでむすぶのはこんなにも時差の問題で難しいのかと感じています。つまりは誰かが深夜になってしまいますので。またTeamの中でも議論に参加してくれる（できる）人が固定されてきている印象で、アフリカ組は中々多忙で入ってこれないのと、欧州組で５年目のレジデントがいるのですがディスカッションはEST 9am-11amの間に行うことがその辺りヨーロッパは午後の忙しい時間ですので、中々時間が合いません（日本時間JST　22時-24時や、時に朝4-7時くらいになったりもします）。

そういう時にはこのようなアプリを用いて、それぞれの時間を考慮して、バラバラになるように配慮して色々と試しています。

（全世界とリアルタイムで会議をする時にとても役に立ちます）

Webinar Attendance Record

By now you can view your webinar attendance record by going to Assignments and selecting Webinar Attendance Score. I will be updating this on a quarterly basis. As a reminder, you will need a score of 75% in order to receive your certificate at the end of the year. For now, you can use this score to gauge your attendance rate and adjust if needed. Attending 2 webinars in the same calendar week (Monday - Friday) is a great way to get extra credit.

Missing Quizzes

You are permitted to submit up to 4 quizzes late during your GCSRT year, but you must pass ALL quizzes in order to graduate. I have sent reminders to all of you who are missing quizzes via Canvas. Please complete your missing quizzes by Sunday, September 9, in order to stay on track.

Failed Quizzes

You are required to pass ALL quizzes with a score of 70% or higher in order to graduate. So, please go to Gradebook to check your grades for each quiz. If you score is lower than 70%, you will need to take the quiz again. If you need additional attempts on the quiz, please email me with that request.
