今、気分はどうですか-----> How do you feel now?

種を飲み込まないように注意して-----> Be careful not to swallow the seed.

【putを使った表現】

とりあえず脇へ置いておいて-----> For now, put it aside.
それをしまってください-----> Please put it away.
それを夏のためにしまっておいてください-----> Please put it away for summer.

となり-----> next to / by / beside
aside -----> 脇

【影、陰に関する表現】

shadowは「影」地面や壁の上で光が当たっていない部分、足元にできる影など
shadeは「陰」空間の中で光が当たっていない場所、木陰、日陰など光が当たらず暗いところ
shadowに人が入るとそこはshadeになる

旗の影があります-----> These are flag shadows.
影は構図を思いつかせる----> Shadows make me composition.
（*上記の文の日本の訳ですが、もっと適切な訳し方があったら教えてください）

これらの影はそれらの旗よりも大きい-----> The shadows are bigger than the flags.
それらはフレーム（写真の）から外れている------> They are out of frame.
私はその旗でその家に魅了されました/ 惹きつけられました------> I was attracted to the house by the flags.
残念なことにその新しい影は構図を邪魔しました-----> Unfortunately, the new shadows interfered with the composition.

【 be attracted to～ by ...】
私は彼女の笑顔で彼女に惹かれました----> I was attracted to her by her smile.
私はその香りでその庭に魅了されました-----> I was attracted to the garden by the smell.

【邪魔をする】

interrupt　　中断する、妨げる、邪魔をする(流れを止める）
＝例）２人の人が話しているところへ他のだれかが話を中断させるようなときに使う

interfere 仕方を邪魔をする、思考を邪魔する、妨げる
＝例）赤ちゃんを抱っこしている母親が、書類を書いている途中で赤ちゃんが泣きだし、そのまま書類を書き続けることができるが、いったん書くのを止めるような中断
その新しい影は構図を邪魔しました------> The new shadows interfered with the composition.

disturb　雰囲気を邪魔する
Do not disturb. 入室禁止（ホテルのドアノブにかけるサイン）

block　　遮断する、妨害する
Your bag is blocking the way.　君のバックは通るのに邪魔なんだけど。。
＝Your bag is in the way.
私の隣人の木は花火を見るのに邪魔です----> My neighbor's tree blocks my view of the firework.

【友人の旅行についての話】
１から１０で言うとあなたの旅はいくつでしたか----> On the scale of one to ten, how was your trip?
どうして７なんですか----> Why was it only seven?
どちらに行ったのでしたっけ？-----> Where did you go again?
どなたかと一緒に行きましたか------> Did you go with anyone?
誰と行ったんだ？（警察などで聞かれる言い方）----> Who did you go with?
何日間の旅でしたか----> How long was your trip?
何日間の旅の予定ですか（未来）-----> How long will your trip be?
旅の目玉は何ですか-----> What were the highlights of your trip?

*troubleは複数形にはならない

【探す、確める】
find ----> 見つける
look for　----> ～を探す
look up -----> 言葉を調べる
その単語を辞書で調べなさい-----> Look up the word in the dictionary.

それを確かめてください-----> Please check it.
*check　は比較的簡単に確められること
電話して確かめてみます-----> I'll call and find out.
*find outはcheckより複雑なことを確かめるとき

【手頃、妥当な値段】
ちょうどいい-----> about just right
適切な-------> suitable
手ごろな値段-----> a reasonable price

【宿題：soon after　とas soon as の例文】
私たちが頂上に到着すると間もなく雨が降り始めました----> Soon after we reached the summit, it began raining.
私たちが頂上に到着したらすぐに昼食にしましょう-----> Let's have lunch as soon as we reach the summit.
息子は大学を卒業して間もなく仕事を見つけました-----> My son found a job soon after graduating from university.

答えは　It was 形容詞.
A: How was your holiday? 休みはどうでしたか

【sensitive　敏感な】

My eyes are sensitive to brightness. So I sit with my back to(towards) the window. 私の眼は明るさに敏感です。だから背を窓に向けて座ります

be sensitive to　～　～に敏感である

He is sensitive about his weight. 　彼は自分の体重を気にしています

be sensitive about　～　　～を気にする、神経をとがらせる

【～に向かって、～を背にして】
I sit with my back to the window.　窓に背を向けて座る

At restaurant, I sit facing the window. レストランでは窓に向かって座る

【初詣】

I went to a shrine for Hastumode on New Year's Day. Hastumode means you pray for your health, wealth, happiness, success.
わたしは元旦に初詣のために神社に行きました。初詣というのは健康、金運、幸福、成功などを祈ることです

pray to God for your health.
pray to 対象相手 for 祈ること
askと同じような使い方ーー　ask to 人　for 頼むこと

Why did you go to Tamamura instead of a nearer shrine?
Why did you go to Tamamura instead of a closer shrine?
どうして近くの神社に行く代わりに玉村へ行ったのですか

Because I was born in Tamamura. 　なぜなら、玉村の出身だからです（玉村で生まれました）

【じゃまをする】

【我慢する】

endure (動詞）　（肉体的に）耐える、辛抱する

He didn't go to a dentist until he couldn't endure the pain.
彼は痛みを我慢できなくなるまで歯医者に行かなかった

can't stand　　イライラしている何かを我慢する
I can't stand people who smoke near children.
私は子供のそばでタバコを吸う人に我慢ができない

bear 耐える、我慢する
He can't bear that kind of person.　彼はそんな人に我慢できない

patient　　我慢強い

【遅れる、お休み、延期、中止、避ける】

I was late for the meeting.　　私は会議に遅れた

Today, the trash pick up is late.　今日はゴミ回収（いつもより）遅れている

Because of the rain the game was delayed 15 minutes.
雨でゲームは１５分遅れた
