【風邪の症状】

【なんだか当ててみて Guess what?】
Guess what?
-----> なんだか当ててみて。ちょっと聞いてよ。聞いてくれる？（会話の最初に相手の興味を引き付ける時に用いる）
Guess -----> 推測する
Ａ：何回だと思う？----> Guess how many times?
Ｂ：３回？-----> Three times?
Ａ：違うよ。もう一度当ててみて-----> No. Guess again.
ここから東京の距離を当ててみて/ ここから東京はどのくらい距離があるか当ててみて-----> Guess what the distance is from here to Tokyo? / Guess how far it is from here to Tokyo.
この～～の......を当ててみて-----> Guess what the ....... of this ～～ is?
彼女のリビングルームがどのくらいの大きさか当ててみて----> Guess what the size of her living room is?
彼女の靴の大きさがどのくらいか当ててみて-----> Guess what the size of her shoes is?
* the size of the shoes(靴の大きさ）が主語になるので単数→is
この紅茶の香りを当ててみて-----> Guess what the flavor of this tea is?
彼女の誕生日ケーキの形を当ててみて（過去）----> Guess what the shape of her birthday cake was?
彼女の爪の長さを当ててみて-----> Guess what the length of her nails is?
彼女のセーターのデザインを当ててみて-----> Guess what the design of her sweater is?
彼女の猫の名前を当ててみて-----> Guess what the name of her cat is?
彼のコンピューターの値段を当ててみて-----> Guess what the price of his computer is?

【大部分は、主に mostly 】
今日はどういうわけか（なんとなく）この公園には大部分は子どもがいる----> Today, for some reason,there are mostly children in this park.
この箱にはほとんど雑誌が入ってる（他にも入っているものはあるが、８０％以上は雑誌が占めているという意味）------> There are mostly magazines in this box.
【ほとんど～ない hardly】⇔mostly
この公園には子供がほとんどいない-----> There are hardly any children in this park.
昨日、登山をしている間、濃い霧があったので私たちは３メートル以上先はほとんど見えなかった----> Yesterday, while climbing mountains, there was a thick fog, so we could hardly see more than three meters in front of us.
夫と私は出かける前、ちょっと口論したので空港への途中ほとんど何も話をしなかった------> Before my husband and I left our home, we had a little argument, so on the way to the airport, we hardly spoke / talked/ said/ anything (to each other).
彼は私の気持ちを読むことができると言ったが、わたしはそれをほとんど信じることができなかった-----> He said he was able to read my mind, but I could hardly believe it.
先日、私が軽井沢へ行ったとき、３時間買い物したがほとんど何も買わなかった
------> When I went to Karuizawa the other day, I shopped for three hours, but I hardy bought anything.
