I was absent from the class on Dec.27 2021. One of class friends kindly shared her notebook with me and I summarized it with my way, add some expressions and would like to post it. Some example sentences are different from the example sentences that our teacher taught because I made them myself in order to memorize. Thank you.

【息に関する英語表現】
ため息-------> sigh
満足のため息をついた-------> I sighed with satisfaction.
なんて大きなため息（ため息をついている人に対して）-------> What a big sigh!
take someone's breath away -------> (驚きなどで）息をのむ
その風景に私は息をのんだ---------> The landscape took my breath away.
形容詞（美しさ、素晴らしさが）息をのむような、驚くような、驚異的な--------> breathtaking
景色はどうでしたか--------> How was the view?
息をのむような美しさでした--------> Oh, breathtaking. / The scenery was breathtaking. / It was breathtaking. / It took my breath away.
息を切らして-------> out of breath
私は息が切れています--------> I'm out of breath.
out of～ -------> ~がなくなって、～を切らして
牛乳を切らしました--------> We are out of milk.
一息つく、ハッと息をのむ--------> catch one's breath
一息つかせて-------> Let me catch my breath.
一息入れましょう-------> Let's catch our breath! (=Let's take a break!)
深呼吸して---------> Take a deep breath. (「落ち着いて」慌てている人に言う意味にもなる）
息を吸う--------> inhale
息を吐く---------> exhale
息を止める、（気がかりなことの結果を待ちながら）固唾をのむ--------> hold one's breath
あんまり当てにしないで、期待しないで-------> Don't hold your breath.
私だったら期待しないな---------> I wouldn't hold my breath.
気分を一新させるも、新風（新しいメンバーなど）--------> a breath of fresh air
あの新しいマネージャーはいいね。（新風を吹き込んだ、という意味で）-------> That new manager is a breath of fresh air.

(形容詞編）
（現在）あなたは疲れているに違いない-----> You must be tired.

(未来）あなたはうれしいに違いないでしょう-----> You will surely be pleased.
