【居心地のよい　comfortable　と　cozy】

comfortable　⇔ uncomfortable

These shoes are uncomfortable. この靴は履き心地がよくない

In this dress even sitting is uncomfortable.
このドレスは座っているのさえ心地悪い

cozy　は小さいスペースの心地よさ


【I was happy to read ～　　～を読んでうれしかった。　復習】

I was happy to read in the newspaper about her wedding.
彼女の結婚について新聞で読んでうれしかった

to hear from her mother～
to find out from her mother～
to hear on my answering machine～

【I was surprised to see ～　　～を見て驚いた】


I was surprised to see on TV that she got married.
彼女が結婚したことをテレビで見て驚いた

to see ～　that・・・・　　　　　　×to see ～about・・　to see～　の場合aboutは使えない


【likely ～しそう　　unlikly　　～しそうにない】

It is cloudy but it is it is unlikely to rain.
曇りだけれど、雨は降りそうにない


It is cloudy so it is likely to rain.
曇っているから雨が降りそうだ


At this pace it is unlikely that we will be on time.
この調子では彼女は予定の時間に着きそうにない

She is unlikely to be pleased ( about/with) the result.
彼女はその理由では喜びそうにない
