I felt three things while traveling to Amami Oshima.
①The coastline is beautiful.

 and It  faces the East China Sea so calm

 therefor we can enjoy swimming 

 and marine sports at any time.
➁The residents are very kind and gentle, 

and there seem like a fun life.
③ Many people were overweight. 

It may be because of the brown sugar, 

Middle-aged and elderly women were overweight. 

I guess excess sugar is not good for people. 

I can understand why retired people have vacation homes

 on Amami Oshima.

I went golfing again yesterday. It was very hot. 

I'm planning to go to Amami Oshima . 

When I travel, I always do my research. 

Amami Oshima is the fifth largest island in Japan. 

If you ask where the largest island in Japan is, 

I think many Japanese people would give a different answer. 

In Japan, the largest island is Etorofu, followed by Kunashiri. 

I think most Japanese people probably have the same knowledge.
Amami Oshima was part of the US after the war.

It is an island that was returned to mainland Japan 

earlier than Okinawa. 

The tourist attractions on Amami Oshima are 

the coast and natural forests.
The population is around 100,000, 

The same as in other  regions, 

but it is decreasing population by about 5% each year.

I went to listen to Rakugo at the entertainment hall. 

It was an event to celebrate the 100th anniversary

 of the birth of Sanpei Hayashiya.

 A famous Rakugo performer appeared 

and it was very interesting.
