白洲正子(しらすまさこ)
随筆家。小林秀雄や青山二郎など一流の文化人と交流しながら、日本文化全般に関する随筆を執筆。能の世界と生涯を通じて向き合った姿勢に、様々な美を見抜く眼の根源があった。
略歴
- 1910(明治43)年: 0歳
- 1月7日 樺山愛輔の次女として生まれる。
- 1916(大正5 )年: 6歳
- 能を習い始める。
- 1924(大正13)年:14歳
- 夏、能舞台に史上初の女性として立つ。アメリカに留学。
- 1928(昭和3 )年:18歳
- 帰国後、白洲次郎と出会う。
- 1929(昭和4 )年:19歳
- 白洲次郎と結婚。
- 1931(昭和6 )年:21歳
- 長男・春正を出産。この年から数年間、毎年ヨーロッパに出かける。
- 1935(昭和10)年:25歳
- 河上徹太郎と知り合い、河上の紹介で、小林秀雄、青山二郎、今日出海らの文士と交流を持つ。
- 1938(昭和13)年:28歳
- 次男・兼正を出産。
- 1940(昭和15)年:30歳
- 長女・桂子を出産。
- 1943(昭和18)年:33歳
- 東京空襲を機に、鶴川の家(現「武相荘」)に移り住む。
- 1946(昭和21)年:36歳
- 青山二郎と出会い、骨董に没入する。
- 1953(昭和28)年:43歳
- 能面を求めて各地を旅するようになる。この旅が後年の紀行文を生むきっかけとなる。
- 1959(昭和34)年:49歳
- 秋、ペルシャ、スペイン、ハンガリーを旅行する。能の免許皆伝を授かる。
- 1964(昭和39)年:54歳
- 「能面」で第15回読売文学賞受賞。西国三十三ヶ所観音巡礼の旅に出る。
- 1969(昭和44)年:59歳
- 「かくれ里」を「芸術新潮」1月号より約2年間連載。取材のため毎月、京都を拠点として近畿一円の村里を訪ね歩く。
- 1972(昭和47)年:62歳
- 「近江山河抄」を「芸術新潮」8月号より10回連載。「かくれ里」で第24回読売文学賞受賞。
- 1978(昭和53)年:68歳
- 「魂の呼び声-能物語」で、児童福祉文化賞受賞。
- 1985(昭和60)年:75歳
- 11月28日 夫・次郎死去。
- 1987(昭和62)年:77歳
- 白内障手術のため入院。
- 1991(平成2)年 :80歳
- 日本文化の継承・発展につくした功績により、第7回東京都文化賞受賞。
- 1998(平成10)年:88歳
- 12月26日 肺炎のため入院先の病院で死去。
