World income rose with the migration, but the natives of foreign countries in this case received more than all of this rise, since the income of US natives declined. With the world’s majority of low-wage workers in the US, there would be tremendous damage to free trade and its benefits, with US middle and upper-middle class workers suffering the brunt of declining wages.

Not quite:
…even though you have a “Green Card”, you can be deported from the United States if you:

* are convicted of even a minor drug related offense;
* are convicted of certain crimes which are considered felonies;
* are convicted of any two crimes not arising out of a single scheme;
* knowingly encourage or aid anyone to enter the United States illegally or fraudulently;
* fail to notify the USCIS of a change of address;
* engage in espionage, sabotage, or terrorist activities.

It’s not all crimes, and is not “will be” but “can.” Still pretty strict of course. The permanent bar is really nasty.

靖国名簿事件

　ちょっと時間がないのと、やる気がないので、取り急ぎ何本か、掲載しておきます。


Japan Probeが靖国の名簿裁判について、英語圏の記事の不適切さを指摘してくれている。ありがたい。

記録のため以下。

判決はまず、自衛官合祀拒否訴訟の最高裁判決（８８年）が「強制や不利益の付与を伴わない限り、他者の宗教的行為で自己の精神生活の静謐（せいひつ）を害されたとする感情には、損害賠償や差し止めの請求を導く法的な利益が認められない」と述べた部分を引用した。そのうえで、遺族側の「靖国神社が戦没した家族のイメージを勝手に作り上げたことで敬愛追慕の情に基づく遺族の人格権が侵害された」とする主張を検討。「故人に対して縁のある他者が抱くイメージも多々存在し、故人に対する遺族のイメージのみを法的に保護すべきだとは言えない」と指摘した。さらに「合祀に強制や不利益の付与はなく、遺族以外の第三者は合祀の事実を知り得ないのだから名誉やプライバシーの侵害も認められない」と判断した。
