Am I still young?

2022-03-06 10:04:09 | 日記
Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Last Wednesday, I got my third vaccination at a clinic.
During my first and second dose, I didn’t have any side effects.
But this time, I had a trouble.

On Thursday, I had some fever, I felt sluggish but fortunately,
I managed my own schedule for work so I didn't go to work because
I needed to take some rest.

In Friday morning, I felt better and went back to work as usual.
But unfortunately, in the evening, the pain came back and this time
it got worst.

And on Saturday, I finally recovered. What a relief!
By the way, they say that young people are prone to have side effects
because their cells are more active than older people.

Am I still young?

Catching up with a friend

2022-03-05 08:32:57 | 日記
Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, I conducted a business training at Matsudo City in
Chiba Prefecture. I finished my task in the morning.

I met with a long-time friend as soon as I finished work
and we went to IZAKAYA together.
Since he lives at Matsudo, I had made an appointment with him.

IZAKAYA is a restaurant that provides alcoholic drinks
and some foods. People usually go to Izakaya in the evening
but we decided to go there in the daytime because it was
not as crowded and we wanted to go day drinking.

We drank some beer and enjoyed talking while remembering our youth.
We used to work in the same company when we were young.

Day drinking is fun. I hope we will do it again.

Revival from Despair

2022-03-04 18:33:12 | 日記
Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

In the Olympics in Beijing last month, Sara Takanashi who is the No1
Japanese ski jumping player, didn’t do well.
Especially, at the team competition, she was disqualified for
wearing the wrong ski suit and because of that, her team was
not able to bag a medal.

She felt that she was responsible for the misfortune and thought about
retiring. But many people cheered for her because they felt that
the judge then was just too strict, that is why many got disqualified
and not just Sara.

Fortunately, after a short hiatus, Sara got back on her feet
and joined a ski jumping competition again yesterday and won
the 14th World Cup in Norway.

Kudos to Sara!
I am looking forward to seeing her as a champion for years to come.

Adults will become young

2022-03-03 08:31:49 | 日記
Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

I read a newspaper and found an article about the revision of
the civil law. The age of adult will be changed starting this April.
Now, the age of adults is 20 years old but it will become 18 years old.

Currently, 18 year old people can’t make contracts without their
parents’ agreement but starting this April, they will do it by themselves.

But there are some things that only people over 20 years old people
are allowed. These are drinking alcohol, smoking, and gamble.

Anyway, I hope young people will have good intentions on their own and
will be mindful of their responsibilities.

Congratulations on passing the entrance exam!

2022-03-02 09:02:12 | 日記
Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday was the announcement day for passers of the entrance exam
of the public high schools in Tokyo.

My son took the exam last Monday and we have been feeling restless
every single day since then.

At 8:30 in the morning, the result was announced on the website.

At first, we couldn’t see it because of the glitch on the website
since many people were checking it at the same time.

However, five minutes later, we finally can open the site
and we found my son’s number!

Starting in April, he is going to a high school.

I hope he will get used to the new environment and enjoy
the high school life.
