YAZAWA

2021-12-21 08:00:18 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, I happened to watch a TV live program which was the concert
in a big hall performed by Mr.Eikichi Yazawa.

He is a very popular rock star, but I was surprised to know his age.
He is 72 years old now!
But he is not fat, and his voice and action are energetic as well.
He is very professional.
I think he always tries to maintain his condition.

I learn from him.
I am 60 years old now.
I want to work and play more energetically like him.

Logisch!

2021-12-20 08:37:38 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

Yesterday, I read an article on a newspaper about Mr. Kozo Tajima
who is the chairman of Japan's Football Association.

After he graduated from university, he went to Germany to
study coaching of football.

He was surprised to know that there's a big difference between
Germany and Japan's relationships between coaches and their players.

In Japan, coaches are the only ones who suggests something to players.
It was a one way communication.
But in Germany, they are often used to discuss with each other.
If a player has some doubts, he asks a question and the coach will answer
it and explain the reason.

During their discussion, Mr.Tajima often heard one word.
It was ‘Logisch!’. It means logical in English.
Germans likes to think logically.

After he came back to Japan, he shared his knowledge to the football
Association. Coaches and players discussed logically very often.
Players were motivated and improved their skills.
Japan's football team became stronger and was able to proceed
to the World Cup.

I think this is the same about business.
In companies, people should discuss logically and aim to achieve
their target.

A unique high school

2021-12-19 10:59:04 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

My son is fifteen years old now and he is going to try the exam to
go to high school next February.
Yesterday, the briefing session of the school which he wants to go
was held and we joined it

The school’s system is unique as a high school.
In usual high school, students belong to one class and they take
the same lessons together.
But in this school, students choose their favorite lessons.
The system looks like the college’s one.

I hope my son will pass the exam and go to the school from next
April.

A Medicine to Wear

2021-12-18 17:40:17 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

I read an interesting article on a newspaper yesterday.

Mr. Ishiguro, president of Kojima Clothing Company had a trouble
getting a good sleep at night.

He used to go to bed at 11 p.m. but wake up at midnight and then
go back to sleep only to wake up again after an hour.
That was his sleeping cycle.

When he went to a trade show, he was interested in one material
Named ‘prousion’. They said that prousion was effective
in improving blood circulation in the body.

His company tried to develop pajamas with prousion.
And they were successful in selling them not just as a sleep wear
but as a medical product as well which they marketed as a product
that can aid people who have difficulty sleeping.

The pajamas are very expensive because prousion is also expensive.
However, the product seems to sell well because many people want to
get a quality sleep after all.

Facilitation

2021-12-17 08:30:30 | 日記
Hi there, Jun Tomioka here.

The day before yesterday, I conducted a business training.
The subject was ‘facilitation’.
Facilitation is one of the communication skills and it is recently
paid attention to in a business field, especially as a skill to
conduct meetings.

In Japanese company, when they have conferences or meetings,
they tend to become a one way communication.
A manager speaks to staff and they only listen to him.
But in this style, they are not motivated.

Facilitation is a skill to live up meetings.
The process is as below;
1. Sharing of information: A leader set a goal clearly and
asks members not to hesitate to say their opinions.
2. Free discussion: Everybody can say their opinions freely.
Nobody denies them.
3. Organize information: A leader organizes opinions logically.
4. Decision: The best way is that everybody agrees with one conclusion.
If not, a leader tries to lead a meeting for an agreement.

I think if leaders learn this skill, the team will be energetic.
