Sanae Takaichi (63), Minister of State for Economic Security, stated in a BS TV Tokyo program aired on Aug. 25 that "The date has been fixed by the party election management committee, I will therefore prepare for it full-fledgedly" in order for running in the LDP presidential election in Sept.
It was filmed on Aug. 20.
Takaichi has been coordination to make an official announcement within the week, saying that she secured the 20 recommending lawmakers needed to run.
