At around 11:20 am on Dec. 31, a 4.5 m in length, 2.8 m in width and 40 cm in thickness wooden object was found on the coast near Teradomarishitobashi in Nagaoka City (Niigata Pref.).
According to the Niigata Coast Guard Office, it has a feature that its surface is coated with coal tar, and it's possibility a part of a N. Korean ship.

On Dec. 31, JCG patrol boat(s) found out that three China Coast Guard vessels sailed in contiguous zone, outside of the territorial waters around the Senkaku Islands ((Tonoshirosenkaku in) Ishigaki City, Okinawa Pref.).
The Chinese public vessels were found out around the Senkaku Islands for 13 days in a row.
The annual total number is 336, which is the record highest number since nationalization of the Senkaku Island in 2012.

N. Korea fired three short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea on Dec. 31 from 8:00 to 8:15 am from near Chunghwa County (Hwanghaebuk Provice) south of Pyongyang.

It's possible that N. Korea attempted to counter this by appealing its ability to respond to an immediate firing.

Korea reported that the 5th-day session of the WPK central committee's enlarged plenary meeting and "The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and a politburo meeting by the highest executives were held on Dec. 30, in which policies of the WPK and the state in 2023 were talked.
It's forecasted that the resolution in writing will be adopted on Dec. 31, and its policy in the new year will be released on Jan. 1 by reporting a speech by General Secretary Kim Jong-un.

When I returned to Yamaguchi's house, an intruduction of new year's eve purification was delivered from the Hofu Tenmangu (shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane's spirit).
I got up early in the morning and completed a clean copy of oharae no kotoba (words of purification), and dedicated it to the Tenmangu.
Then, I will do the year-end (* spring) cleaning from now on.
