八風山JA/NN-153 SOTA運用

1月15日の日曜日に、軽井沢町に有る八風山1,315mJA/NN-153へSOTA運用に出かけた。今日は午後から雨予報だったので、昼までに下山の予定だ。
On Sunday, January 15th, We went to Happusan 1,315m JA/NN-153 in Karuizawa town for SOTA activation. Since the WX forecast was for rain in the afternoon, we plan to go down the mountain by noon.

↓今朝は曇りでガスの中なので比較的暖かい。

↑It's cloudy and warm this morning.

↓上の雪の具合が不明だが、ここは岩場が無いので念の為チェーンスパイクを付ける。

↑The condition of the snow is unknown, so just in case, add chain spikes.

↓最初は急な登りを登る。

↑Climb a steep climb at first.

↓稜線に出た。ここ迄ほとんど雪は無し。

↑We reached the ridgeline. Almost no snow so far.

時折強い風が吹くと樹上の水滴がバラバラと降って来る。
When a strong wind blows from time to time, water droplets fall from the trees.

↓雪は有ってもこの程度。昨日、一昨日の雨でとけた様だ。

↑Almost no snow. It seems to have melted in the rain yesterday and the day before yesterday.

↓雪も無く、順調に20分程で山頂到着。

↑With no snow, we reached the summit in about 20 minutes.

↓雨が降っても大丈夫な様にシートを掛けて無線機を準備。

↑ Prepare a radio with a sheet so that it will be okay even if it rains.

先行のGPY局を21MHzで見つけてS2S-QSO。
I found GPY-san at 21MHz and S2S-QSO.

最近はハイバンドのCONDXが良いので、28MHzからCQを出してみた。
Recently, high band CONDX is good, so I start CQ from 28MHz.

予想通りCONDXは良く、2局目に北米アリゾナのKR7RK局に呼ばれてS2S。
CONDX was good and was called from the KR7RK-san in Arizona for S2S-QSO.

中々幸先が良いと思った物の、残念ながら先週の南米局からは呼ばれなかった。
It was a good start, but unfortunately there was no call from the SA station last week.

次に24MHzにQSY。こちらも北米局からコール。
Then QSY to 24MHz. This is also a call from the North American station.

ここまで、ANTは14MHz1/4λのワイヤーに乗せてたので、そのまま14MHzでCQ。
Up to this point, ANT was put on a 14MHz 1/4λ wire, so next CQ at 14MHz.

台湾局からコール。国内九州局に呼ばれたのでEsも出ている様だ。
A call from the Taiwan. It seems that Es is also opened so called by the Kyushu.

ハイバンドをQSYする途中、国内S2S局をコールするが、パイルが厚くて撃沈。
During the QSY, I called the JA S2S station, but I was not picked up due to a pileup.

↓バンドチェンジの為釣竿を縮め様とすると、ケーブルに氷。竿も一部凍り付いている。

↑When I tried to shorten the fishing rod for QSY, the cable was iced. Some of the rods also frozen.

何とか竿を縮めてワイヤーの長さを変えて18MHzにQSY。
Somehow shortened the rod and changed the wire length and QSY to 18MHz.

こちらも北米局に呼ばれたが少し尻切れ気味。
I was also called to the North American station, but I'm a little bit overwhelmed.

しかし、ガスの中で風もそこそこあって、体感温度はかなり寒い。
There is some wind in the gas, and the sensible temperature is quite cold.

21MHzへQSYすると、ここでも北米のWB6POT局からコール。本日3バンド目。
QSY to 21MHz, I got a call from WB6POT-san in North America. 3rd band today.

寒いせいか結露のせいか、途中でパドルの長点側が出なくなる。
Due to the cold WX or condensation, the dash side of the paddle does not work.

しょうがなく、いつものハンドル名を入れてのQSOを諦め、登録文だけでQSOする。
I gave up the usual QSO with the OP name and QSO with only the registration text.

7MHzへQSY。既に関東各局はNewdayも含めて終わってる為か余り呼ばれない。
QSY to 7MHz. not called much.

7MHzのCQが終わった所でいつもの山頂局をコールしてS2S。
When the 7MHz CQ ended, I called the summit station and made S2S.

↓一通り運用した所でお昼ご飯にする。寒い日は暖かいカップヌードルが美味しい。

↑I'm going to have lunch. Warm cup noodles are delicious on cold days.

↓ご飯の後は、ふかした肉まんを頂く。

↑After lunch, I will have steamed meat buns.

食事でだいぶ暖まったが、今日は昼頃から雨予報なので、早々に撤収する。
I warmed up by lunch, but rain is forecast from noon today, so I will evacuate early.

↓撤収途中でアンテナケーブルを見ると氷が筒状にワイヤーにくっついてる。面白い。

↑Looked at the antenna during the withdrawal, Ice sticking to the wire in a cylindrical.

↓撤収完了。11時半には下山開始。

↑Removal completed. Start descending at 11:30.

↓下山する頃になって少しだけガスは晴れて下の景色が見えた。

↑When I descended, the gas cleared a little and I could see the scenery below.

この後、急いで下山。
After this, hurry down.

チェーンスパイクを付けているので靴が全く滑らず、少し歩きづらかった。
I had chain spikes so my shoes didn't slip at all so a little difficult to walk.

↓途中で少しあられが降って来たが、大濡れせずに車に到着。

↑A little hail came down on the way, but arrived the car without getting wet.

↓帰って調べると、KX2パドル入力の自作ケーブルが断線。半田付けしなおして修理。

↑I checked in my house, the cable for KX2 paddle input was cutted. Re-soldered it.

↓よく考えるとオプションのパドルを持っていたのでそれで運用すればよかった。

↑When I thought about it, I had an optional paddle, so I should have used it.

と言う事で、なんとか雨に降られず、又28MHzで北米とS2Sも出来まずまずの結果。
It was a good that we did not caught in the rain, and S2S-QSO with North America on 28MHz.

物見山JA/NN-142 SOTA運用

1月8日の日曜日に、佐久市に有る物見山1,375mJA/NN-142へSOTA運用に出かけた。
On Sunday, January 8th, We went to MONOMIYAMA 1,375m JA/NN-142 in Saku City for SOTA activation.

↓今年は、去年程雪が無く、無事に駐車スペースに車を停められた。

↑This year, there wasn't as much snow as last year, and I was able to safely park my car in the parking space

↓今朝は少し曇っている(ガスの中)ので、あまり寒くない氷点下3度程。

↑It's a little cloudy this morning, so it's not too cold, about -3 ℃.

時折風が強く吹くと、木の上の雪が降って来る。
Sometimes when the wind blows strongly, snow falls from the trees.

↓取り敢えずチェーンスパイク装備。

↑Equipped with chain spikes.

↓念の為かんじきも持って登山口へ向かう。

↑Just in case, bring Kanjiki and head to the trailhead.

↓林道の途中にあるゲート。これより先一般車両は通行止め。

↑The gate in the middle of the forest road. Public vehicles are closed beyond this point.

↓そのまま林道を進む。雪は10cm前後と言った所。

↑Continue along the forest road. The snow depth is around 10 cm.

↓林道の終点。ここから登山道に上がる階段。

↓少し急な階段を登る。

↑Climb the steep stairs.

登山道途中もガスの中？なので景色も無し。
There is no scenery because it is in the gas on the way to the mountain trail.

↓少し登山道を歩いて山頂到着。雲の中でガスってる。

↑After a short walk, we reached the summit. There's gas in the clouds.

↓木に霧氷が付いてきれいだ。

↑It is beautiful with hoarfrost on the trees.

さっそく無線機を準備する。
Prepare the radio.

↓今日は28MHzでCQを出して見る。

↑CQ from 28MHz today.

久しぶりに南米はアルゼンチンとQSO。北米、台湾ともQSO。
QSO with Argentina, North America, Taiwan.

14MHzにQSY。RBNに捕まる物のさっぱり呼ばれず。
QSY to 14MHz. Caught by RBN but not called at all.

18MHzはRBNに引っ掛からないが、それでも北米、台湾からコール。
18MHz is not caught in RBN, but still calls from North America and Taiwan.

21MHzでは台湾局とQSO。
QSO with Taiwan on 21MHz.

7MHzは国内近距離がスキップしている様で、関東からのコールが少なかった。
7MHz seems to be skipping short-distance, so there were few calls from Kanto.

↓次第に晴れてきて、遠くにノコギリの歯の様な妙義山が見える。

↑It's sunny and we can see Mt. Myogi in the distance like the teeth of a saw.

日が射してきているので、体感温度もかなり暖かくなって来た。
Since the sun is shining, the sensible temperature has become quite warm.

↓一通りQSOを終えてお昼ご飯にする。

↑After finishing the QSO, we had lunch.

↓デザートに熱々のあんまんをふかして食べる。寒い日には最高だね。

↑Blow hot "Anman" for dessert and eat. Great for cold days.

ここは群馬との境なので、V/Uで関東各局に良く届き、XYLは既に14-QSO。
Here is on the border with Kanto, V/U reached Kanto, so XYL was already 14-QSO.

↓XYLはCW練習を兼ねて、7MHz/CWでCQを出す。

↑XYL was CQ at 7MHz for CW practice.

今日は近距離スキップなので余り呼ばれないが、XYLのCW練習には丁度いい感じ。
She didn't get many calls because short distance skip, but just for CW practice.

↓すっかりいい天気で山頂の鉄塔も良く見える。

↑The WX is became nice, so can see the tower at the top of the mountain.

XYLのCW練習も終え、撤収を始める。
XYL's CW practice was over, and we start to withdraw.

撤収途中で、何局か関東の山に登ってるSOTA局と430/FMにてS2S-QSO。
On the way to withdrawal, we made S2S-QSOs on 430/FM .

撤収して下山開始。
Withdraw and start descending.

↓下山途中の登山道からは浅間山が良く見える。

↑Mt.Asama can be seen well from the trail on the way down.

この後無事に車まで帰着。
After that, we returned to the car.

↓SOTAではブラジル以来2度目、28MHzでは初の南米とQSOが出来て良かった。

↑Today, the 28MHz CONDX was good, and I can QSO with the South American.

しかも向こうからRST579のレポート、こちらでもリアル579と強力だった。
I received the RST579. RX signal also real 579. It was strong.

まるで50MHzのEスポで、DXが出来た時みたいな感じだった。
It was like DX QSO at 50MHz Es.

KX2も28MHzから7MHzまで無事に動作試験が出来、ATUが正常動作した事で、前回の修理でほぼ問題なく動作するようになった事が確認出来て良かった。

The KX2's ATU works well from the 28MHz to 7MHz, and I'm glad I was able to confirm that the previous repair made it work without any problems.

NYPと皆神山JA/NN-246 SOTA運用

1月3日の火曜日、年末年始休暇も最終日、JARLのニューイヤーパーティ参加とJA/NN-246のSOTA運用を兼ねて、皆神山660mへ移動した。
On Tuesday, January 3rd, the last day of the New Year's holiday, we moved to Minakamiyama 660m to participate in JARL's New Year Party and to activate SOTA JA/NN-246.

ここも山頂近くまで車で行ける所だ。実は一度12時前に着いたのだが、ポータブル電源を忘れて、自宅まで取りに帰ったので1時間ほどのタイムロスとなった。

We can also drive up to the top of the mountain here. Once I arrived before 12:00, but I forgot my portable power supply　and went home to get it, so I lost about an hour.

↓少し予定より遅れて無線機を準備。

↑We prepared the radio a little later than planned.

先ずは7MHzの国内向け運用を行う。何とかS2Sは2局間に合った。
First of all, I operated 7MHz for JA. S2S was in time for two stations.


↓7MHzを終えて、お昼ご飯にする。デザートにふかしたてのあんまん。

↑After 7MHz, we had lunch. Freshly steamed "Anman" for dessert.

普段はXYLの7/CWの練習運用をするが時間が押してるので、今日はパス。
XYL usually practices 7/CW, but I don't have time, so I skipped it today.

14MHzからCQ。スエーデン、フランス、EUロシアから呼ばれた。
CQ at 14MHz. Called from Sweden, France and EU Russia.

CONDXがもう一つで、いつもより更にカスカスの信号だ。
CONDX for the EU is bad today, with a weaker signal than usual.

その後18→21→14→18MHzとQSYするが、全く呼ばれない。
After that, I QSY 18→21→14→18MHz, but it is not called at all.

↓暗い中でヘッドライトを付けて運用。

↑Operate in the dark with headlights on.

17時過ぎの2度目の21MHzでやっとドイツ、スエーデン、チェコからコール。
After 17:00, at 21MHz called from Germany, Sweden, and Czech.

しかしこれもかなり弱い信号だ。
But it's also a pretty weak signal.

最後に14MHzでCQ。ドイツ、ニュージー、スエーデンから呼ばれた。
Finally CQ at 14MHz. Called from Germany, New Zealand and Sweden.

それ以降呼ばれ無くなったので撤収。
After that, I was no longer called, so I withdrew.

↓気温は氷点下2度と冷え込んで来た。

↑The temperature dropped to minus 2 degrees Celsius.

↓機材や荷物に霜が降りている。

↑Frost is falling on the equipment and luggage.

↓山頂からは、街の夜景が見える。

↑From the top of the mountain, you can see the night view of the city.

↓本日のQSO先。先日より少し少ない。

今日は、EU向けのCONDXが良くなく、呼ばれても信号が弱く苦労した。
Today, the CONDX for EU was not good, and even when called, the signal was weak and I had a hard time.

KX2は7MHzだけだが問題なく動作。後はハイバンドもテストしたい所だ。
KX2 use only 7MHz, but it works well. I wii test at the high band later.

川中島CC JA/NN-245 SOTA運用

12月29日木曜日、既に年末年始の休暇に入っているので、長野市の川中島CC JA/NN-245 774mへSOTA運用に出かけた。
On Thursday, December 29th, I went to Kawanakajima CC JA/NN-245 774m in Nagano City for the SOTA activation as I was already on New Year's holiday.

ここは、アクティベーションゾーンまで車で行けるので、今日は山登りは無し。
We can drive to the activation zone here, so no mountain climbing today.

↓無線機を準備する。

↑Prepare the radio.

↓時間が遅く、S2Sは殆ど出来なかったが、7MHzはKX2で国内向け運用。

↑It was late, so S2S was almost impossible. 7MHz operation on KX2.

昨日修理したばかりのKX2を使用したが、特に問題なく同調が取れた。
I used the KX2 that was just repaired yesterday. ATU tuned correctly.

↓国内向けの運用が一段落した所で、13時を回って遅いお昼ご飯。

↑After the operation for the JA , we had a late lunch .

↓お昼ご飯の後は、XYLが7/CWに練習がてらCQを出す。

↑After lunch, XYL CQing for practicing on 7/CW.

XYLは既に2mで4-QSO。7CWで6局程とQSO。
XYL already has 4-QSO at 2m. 6-QSO on 7/CW.

↓アンテナはこんな感じ。V/Uのアンテナは少し後ろに有る。

↑Today's antenna. The V/U antenna is a little behind.

少し休憩した後、14:40からFT-857/50Wで14MHでCQ。
After a short break, CQ at 14MH with FT-857/50W from 14:40.

さっぱり応答が無いので、もう少し休憩。
I didn't get any response at all, so I took a short break again.

そろそろいいかと、15:33から18MHzでCQ。EUロシアとスエーデンからコール。
CQ at 18MHz from 15:33. Called from EU Russia and Sweden.

その後、21MHz→18MHzにQSYするもコール無し。
After that, QSY from 21MHz to 18MHz, but no call.

再び14MHzに出ると、フランス、ドイツ、ニュージーからコール。
When I CQ at 14MHz again, calls from France, Germany and New Zealand.

次にまた21MHzに出るとドイツとラトビアからコール。
Next, when I QSY to 21MHz again, call from Germany and Latvia.

18MHzに下がると、スエーデン、ドイツからコール。
When QSY to 18MHz again, calls from Sweden and Germany.

最後に14MHzに降りると、スエーデン、ロシア、オーストラリア、イギリスからコール。
Finally QSY to 14MHz again, calls from Sweden, Russia, Australia and England.

↓辺りはすっかり暗くなってしまった。

↑The area has become completely dark.

過去の経験から暗くなってから呼ばれ無くなるとそれ以降呼ばれないので撤収する。
From past experience, if you don't get called after it gets dark, you won't be called after that, so I'll withdraw.

↓雪道の向こうにタヌキ？が出て来ていた。

↑A raccoon dog on the other side of the snowy road? was coming out.

今日は、そこそこEUから呼ばれて、先ず先ずの結果か。
A number of EU stations have called me today.

昨日修理したKX2も7MHzだけの出番だが今の所ちゃんと動いている様で良かった。
The KX2 that was repaired yesterday is only on 7MHz, but it seems to be working properly so far, so it's good.

峠山JA/NN-168 SOTA運用

新年あけましておめでとうございます。今年も宜しくお願いします。
年もあけて遅ればせながらやっと更新です。と言っても年末のお話ですが、、、、
Happy new year. Thank you for your continued support this year.
It's a little late, but this is the first update of the new year. Although it is a story at the end of last year,

12月25日日曜、クリスマスの日ですが、天龍村の峠山1,200mJA/NN-168からSOTA運用を行ってきた。
On Sunday, December 25th, Christmas Day, I went to SOTA activation from 1,200m JA/NN-168 at Mt.Touge in Tenryu village.

↓峠山近くの道路脇に車を停める。

↑Park my car on the side of the road near Mt.Touge

道路は除雪されている。余り沢山は降ってない様で、落ち葉の下の路面が見える。
Roads are cleared of snow. See the road below where the fallen leaves.

↓少し戻って、この先の低くなった所から取り付く。

↑Go back a little. Attach to the mountain from the lower place ahead.

↓急斜面を少し登り尾根筋にでる。

↑Climb up a steep slope and reach the ridgeline.

↓登って来たトレース。意外に急斜面だ。積雪は15cm位かな。

↑Trace came up. The slope is surprisingly steep. Snowfall is about 15 cm.

↓山頂到着。以前は目印が何もなかったが、今年は最高点辺りにテーピングが有った。

↑Arrive at the summit. There were no landmarks before, but this year there was taping around the highest point.

↓無線機を準備して14MHzから。

↑Prepare a radio and start from 14MHz.

既に10時を回っていて、海外からは呼ばれない。
It's already past 10 o'clock, so I haven't been called from overseas.

18MHzにQSYすると、なんか上手くATUが動かない感じ。
When I QSY to 18MHz, it feels like ATU doesn't work well.

何とか同調が取れた所で出るが、送信中に何やらBEEP音が出るし、途中で「HI CUR」表示が出て送信しなくなる。
修理したつもりだったのにまだ駄目な所が残っていたのか、、、、まいったなぁ。

Transmits bypassing ATU. However, a BEEP sound is emitted during transmission. "HI CUR" appears on the way and it stops transmitting.　I thought I had repaired it, but there was still something problem with it...

↓しょうがないのでFT-817とRHM8Bコイルで21MHzに出るが、誰も呼んでくれない。

↑Instead, use FT-817 with RHM8B. CQ at 21MHz. But nobody called me.

1/4λのワイヤーではRHM8Bコイルで同調が取れないので、2m位のワイヤーでやっているせいもあって飛びも弱いのだろう。
A 1/4λ wire cannot be tuned with an RHM8B coil. Because it uses a wire of about 2m instead, it will be weak.

この後、ワイヤーを7m程にして、コイルで同調を取って7MHzにでる。
After that, make the wire about 7m, tune it with a coil, and go to 7MHz.

こちらはそこそこ国内から呼ばれた。
This one was called from all over the country.

XYLの方は、7/SSBのS2Sと2m/SSBで4局はクリア。
For XYL, 4 stations were cleared with 7/SSB S2S and 2m/SSB.

↓お昼ご飯の後、7MHz/CWに練習でオンエア。

↑After lunch, XYL was on air for practice on 7MHz/CW.

活性委員会の方にもお相手頂き4QSO。
4-QSOs including members of the activity committee.

↓寒くなって来たので撤収。

↑It's getting cold, so we were withdrawing.

↓登って来たトレースを逆にたどって下山。

↑Reverse the trace that came up and descend.

↓帰り道、峠山登山口？の最後の分岐の所の看板。

↑On the way back, the sign at the last branch of the trailhead of Togeyama.

2Km位行くと全面通行止めの様だが、登山口までは1km位なので問題なかった。
After about 2km, it seemed to be completely closed to traffic, but it was about 1km to the trailhead, so there was no problem.

今日は、せっかく直したと思ったKX2が依然不調でがっかりだ。おかげでDXも無しだったし。また修理しなきゃ、、、、

Today, I'm disappointed that the KX2, which I thought was alrady fixed, but it was still in trouble. And there was no DX. I have to fix it again,,,,
