Ochanomizu

Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Ochanomizu area in Tokyo is famous for music instruments shops.
There are a lot of shops. I don’t know the reason why.

My son entered high school this April and joined a jazz music
club at school. He wants to play base guitar.

Yesterday, we went to Ochanomizu to buy his base guitar.
We visited some shops and finally found a good electric base guitar
which was for beginners and is not expensive.

I hope he will practice hard and become a good bassist.

Celebrations in June

Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

5th of June is our Wedding anniversary.
19th of June is my wife’s birthday and also Father’s day this year.
21st of June is my birthday.
June has a lot of celebrations for our family.

So, yesterday, we went to an Italian restaurant and had dinner.
The restaurant was named ‘Osteria Dieci’ in Azabujyuban.
Since this restaurant allows us to be with pets, we took our dog.

The food and the ambiance were very nice.
I am looking forward to visiting there again.

The Flag in Portsmouth

I read a book entitled ‘The Flag in Portsmouth’ written by Akira
Yoshimura.
This book described Mr.Jyutaro Komura who was the Minister
for Foreign Affairs around 1900.

He became a representative of Japan for the peace treaty between
Russia and Japan after the war and concluded it.
The meeting was held in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, U.S.A.
The negotiation was very tough. He and his team made their best
efforts for the conclusion.

Now, we live in such a happy circumstance.
We should not forget the efforts of many people in the past.

Change of price plan

Hi there! Jun Tomioka here.

Due to the pandemic, I don’t have many opportunities to meet people.
On the contrary, communicating thorough smartphone is increasing.

In my smartphone plan, a five-minutes call has the regular charge.
But recently, I’ve been talking to someone for over five minutes
about complicated matters on the phone.

Since I don’t want to be conscious about call time, I decided to change
my price plan.
When I checked the internet, I was able to change it online easily.

So, I will be able to speak as long as I want without hesitation.

Helmet and protective gears

I read an article about gears for a motorbike in a newspaper.

They say that the price of helmets is increasing.
The main reason is the increase of materials and another reason
is the consciousness of safety.
People who select good and high price helmets are increasing.

Japanese helmet makers such as Arai, Shoei, and OGK are very popular
all over the world because their quality is good.
It seems these helmets are selling well although they are expensive.

All riders have to wear helmets but other protective gears are not
under obligation.

The article said that the rate of wearing breath protectors is
only 8.6%.
I think riders should wear protective gears besides helmets for
their safety.
