Today, January 11th, was Kagami-biraki, and I baked three small rice cakes in the morning.
For this year's zoni, I used brown rice mochi.
It has a natural flavor that is not found in white mochi.
I don't decorate kagami mochi, so I baked the leftover brown rice mochi for zoni and ate it gratefully, vowing to do my best this year.
I will live my life to the fullest this year as well.
