昨日思いがけずYさんからあぶみカバーをいただきました。ハンドメイドでネコちゃんの模様がついています。

手芸がお得意でなんでも作られる天才的な腕をお持ちです。以前にも手作りマスクを何枚も頂ました。

鞍には鐙がついていますが、使わない時には短くしてしまいますので鞍を傷つけないようにするためです。

私はリュウマチのため思うように指が動かせません。だから彼女の手仕事は天才的にみえます。

Yesterday, I unexpectedly received stirrup covers from Mrs.Y. They are handmade with cat patterns on them.

She is a genius with a talent for handicrafts and can make anything. I have received many handmade masks from her in the past as well.

Stirrups are attached to the saddle, but when not in use, they are shortened to prevent damaging the saddle.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and can't move my fingers as I would like. That's why her handiwork seems genius to me.

 

もう一つは

新潟県長岡市　山古志地区で開かれた牛の角付き（闘牛）がひらかれた。

国の重要無形文化財に指定されている。

牛にケガを負わせぬようにかならず引き分けるそうです。

組み合っていた２頭の後ろ足に、合図とともに綱がかけられ人たちが必死にたたかい、引きはがすのだそうです。

スペインの闘牛は牛がかわいそうでで見ていられないけど、これなら安心してみていられます。

人も動物も怪我がないように願っています。

The matches always end in a draw to prevent the bulls from getting injured.

At the signal, ropes are thrown around the hind legs of the two bulls that are locked together, and people desperately pull them apart.

I can't bear to watch Spanish bullfighting because I feel sorry for the bulls, but I can watch this with peace of mind.

I hope that neither people nor animals get injured

継続は力なり

朝、オンライン英会話のあとスピーキングテストを受けました。

結果、ワンランクアップしていました。

何年も続けているオンライン英会話　そして毎月のように受け続けたスペーキングテストでしたが、似たような結果に果たして上達しているかと不安な気持ちがありました。でもAIは気持ちをくむこともなく判断します。

 

シャル君の体調が悪く気持ちが沈みがちな時も、欠かさず続けた甲斐がありました。

馬の競技会に参加する場合でも、ワンランク上を目指すとそれなりの努力がいります。

英語は一人でできますが、馬の場合はパｰトナーの馬の存在が大きく影響します。そこは大きく異なりますが。

でも何事もあきらめず継続することです。

 

シャル君も今は老後をゆっくりすごしています。

In the morning, after my online English conversation session, I took a speaking test. As a result, I had moved up a level. Despite years of continuous online English conversation practice and monthly speaking tests, I felt uncertain about whether I was actually improving, as the results seemed similar each time. However, AI makes judgments without empathizing with feelings.

Even during times when Sharu was feeling down due to poor health, continuing without fail proved to be worthwhile. Just as aiming for a higher level in horse competitions requires considerable effort, while English can be practiced alone, the presence of a partner horse significantly influences outcomes in the case of horses. This aspect differs greatly. Nonetheless, the key is to never give up and to persist.

Sharu is now enjoying a leisurely retirement.

 

 

暑い夏を迎え撃つ

土曜日は日中２４度まで気温が上がり、夏を思わせられました。

９時のレッスンのシャル君も、暖かな気温に反応して元気があまりありませんでした。

地球温暖化でいろいろな生物が影響をうけています。

今年の夏は暑さに弱いシャル君がどうなるのか心配になりました。

のりきるためには今から対策を考えていかなければなりません。

On Saturday, the temperature rose to as high as 24 degrees Celsius during the day, reminiscent of summer.

Even Sharu, who had a lesson at 9 o'clock, lacked energy due to the warm temperature.

Various organisms are being affected by global warming.

I became worried about how Sharu, who is sensitive to heat, would fare this summer.

To overcome this, we must start thinking about countermeasures now.

マグネットふたたび

車のドアに貼っていたシャル君のマグネットが、いつのまにか無くなってがっかりしていました。路上で落としたのなら絶対にみつかるはずがないと諦めていました。

ところがそのことを聞かれた製作者のかたが、原画があるからと再び作ってくださいました。

こんなうれしいことはありません。

However, when the creator was informed about this, they said they had the original design and could make it again.
