馬術競技にも壁があるように

オンライン英会話のレッスンは私にとって日常的なことですが、月一回のスピーキングテストも受けてはげみにしています。

でもなんでもそうですが、一朝一夕で上達はのぞめません。次のレベルに行くには厚く高い壁が立ちはだかっています。

馬術の場合は馬の調教度や相性もあってさらに難しいと思います。年をとると体力の衰えも上達を阻みます。

気力や記憶力もおとろえてきます。

だから挑むのではなく、楽しく学べたらいいなと思っています。

Online English lessons are a regular part of my life, and I also take a monthly speaking test as a source of motivation. However, as with anything else, I don't expect to make significant progress overnight. There are thick and high walls standing in the way of reaching the next level.

In the case of equestrian sports, the training level of the horse and compatibility play an even more challenging role. As we age, our physical abilities can also hinder improvement.

Mental strength and memory tend to decline as well.

Therefore, instead of approaching it as a challenge, I hope to enjoy the process of learning.

 

 

 

野生のコアラ

コアラ

わがクラブには野生のリスのファミリーが木と木の間を目まぐるしく飛び回っていますが、オーストラリアではコアラのようです。

知り合いのお嬢さんはオーストラリア在住ですが、先日彼女の家の近くまでコアラちゃんが遊びに来たそうです。

In our club, there is a wild squirrel family darting around between the trees, but it seems like in Australia, it's koalas.

My acquaintance's daughter lives in Australia, and she mentioned that a koala recently came to play near their home.

可愛いかき氷やさん

酷暑続きで人馬とも疲弊してしまいそうです。

今日はクラブハウスでかき氷やさんが開業しました。

スタッフのお嬢さんが電動のかき氷機で作ってくれます。

商売繁盛かな？

With the continued scorching heat, both people and horses seem to be exhausted.

Today, a shaved ice stand opened at the clubhouse.

The staff's daughter will make it for you using an electric shaved ice machine.

I wonder if it will be prosperous for the business?

顔もつけられなかったのに。

高飛びこみ

ミックンが18才の誕生日を迎えました。

好きなものは海に行くことと水泳です。一通り泳ぎをマスターしたので今は高飛び込みを頑張っています。

三才のころはプールで水に顔をつけることをあれほどいやがったのに。

Mikkuｎ just celebrated his 18th birthday.

His favorite things are going to the beach and swimming. After mastering all the swimming techniques, he is now focusing on diving from a high board.

It's hard to believe that when he was three years old, he hated putting his face in the water at the pool.

 

友人に頼まれて

先月、お嬢さんの結婚式にオーストラリアに行ってこられたＳさんからラインをいただきました。

なんでもその時のビデオが送られてきたけど、英語なので理解できないということでした。

それで月曜日にビデオをみながら説明してあげることになりました。

そして予想もしなかったお嬢さんの人生の展開に、ご自分も英語を勉強したいから教えてほしいとのことでした。

新しい目的をもって何かを始めることは、何歳になっても素晴らしいことです。いずれお孫ちゃんと英語で話せる日を夢見て。

私もできるだけ協力してあげたいです。

I received a message on LINE from S-san, who went to Australia last month for her daughter's wedding.

She said that she received a video from the wedding, but couldn't understand it because it was in English.

So, I agreed to explain the video to her while watching it on Monday.

And unexpectedly, she was impressed by her daughter's life journey, and wanted me to teach her English because she also wants to study it.

Starting something new with a new purpose is a wonderful thing at any age.

Let's dream of the day when you can speak English with your grandchildren. I want to help as much as I can.
