車と馬

クラブの駐車場から５月２日に、このように美しい富士山を久しぶりに見ることが出来ました。

ゴールデンウイークは終わりましたが、この時期は朝夕はちょっと一桁まで冷え、日中は気温が２３度くらいに上がりますが快適な日々が続きます。

いつも通る横横道路は早朝と日中は空いていて、周りの山々の新緑を楽しめます。

大学四年の時免許を取って以来、車の運転の楽しさを知り色々でかけました。免許更新すればあと三年運転できます。

その後は年齢的に予測できません。

馬に乗ることも楽しいですが、車ほど正確に動くわけではないし、感情ももっているのでいろいろ気を使います。

やはり馬は、車のない時代の労働力としてその役割をはたしてきましたが、今は友達、仲間、ペットとして、なんとも愛すべき存在です。

シャル君仲良く楽しくすごそうね！

On May 2nd, I was able to see Mount Fuji beautifully from the club’s parking lot for the first time in a while.

Although Golden Week has ended, the mornings and evenings still get a bit chilly—down to single digits—but during the day, the temperature rises to around 23 degrees Celsius, making for a string of pleasant days.

The Yokohama-Yokosuka Road I usually take is empty in the early morning and daytime, and I enjoy the fresh green of the surrounding mountains.

Since I got my driver’s license in my senior year of university, I’ve discovered the joy of driving and have gone on many trips. If I renew my license, I can drive for another three years.

After that, it's hard to predict what will happen given my age.

Riding horses is also fun, but unlike cars, they don’t move as precisely, and since they have emotions, you need to be mindful of many things.

Indeed, horses used to serve as a vital source of labor in the days before cars, but now they are friends, companions, and beloved pets.

Let’s continue to have fun together, Sharu-kun!

 

 

ランチにおよばれ

玄関で雨に濡れた美しいシャクナゲに迎えられ、リビングからはお庭の新緑がしたたり落ちるような眺めに魅せられながら素敵なお昼。

三人でおいしく手作りランチをいただきました。

アブダビからかえってきた友人から写真を見せてもらい、行くことはないであろうサウジアラビアに思いをはせました。

We were welcomed at the entrance by a beautiful rhododendron glistening with rain, and from the living room, we were captivated by the view of fresh greenery dripping with life in the garden—a lovely setting for lunch.

The three of us enjoyed a delicious homemade meal together.

Our friend, who had just returned from Abu Dhabi, showed us photos, and I found myself imagining Saudi Arabia—a place I will probably never visit.

新緑のまぶしい時

いよいよゴールデンウイーク、でも今日は道路は意外にも空いていました。

今日は先生のレッスンだけで放牧はなしでした。

昨夜の雨で馬場はしめっていましたから。気温がちょっと低いので元気なシャルくんです。

The Golden Week holidays have finally begun, but the roads were surprisingly clear.

Today Sharu only had a lesson with the instructor and no turnout.

The arena was damp from last night’s rain. Since the temperature was a bit low, Sharu-kun was feeling lively.

ボランティア活動

先日老人ホームでのお花のボランティアに行ってきました。コロナのため3年くらいお休みになっていましいた。

月に一度ですがとても楽しみにしていられるみたいです。それぞれに活けられた花は部屋に持ち帰られて飾っておかれます。

オアシス（吸水スポンジ）をバスケットに入れてお花を挿していきます。

お花には人を元気にしてくれる霊力みたいなものがあるので、心が癒されるとおもいます。

The other day, I went to do volunteer flower arranging at a nursing home.
Due to COVID-19, the activities had been on hold for about three years.

It's only once a month, but the residents seem to really look forward to it.
Each person arranges their own flowers, and then takes them back to their rooms to display.

We place floral foam (oasis) into baskets and insert the flowers into it.

Flowers seem to have a kind of spiritual power that energizes people, and I believe they bring healing to the heart.

 

シャル君はいいこだね！

だんだん暑い夏が近づいてきます。シャル君も私も暑さにはとても弱いです。

虫よけネットと蚊取線香は必須アイテムです。それに扇風機です。

7月の誕生日に運転免許証の更新があります。その前に高齢者運転の講習会が義務づけられているので参加してきました。

特に問題はなく良好で上品な運転とほめられました。

高速運転ではキープレフト　、雨の日、夜、混雑した場所などはなるべく運転を避けることにしています。

私の車はシャル君のところに通うためにあるようなものです。５１キロ離れた青葉台の自宅から三浦まで車だととても便利です。

先日なにげなく、もし何らかの理由でシャル君のところまで通えなくなったらどうしようともらすと、私が引き取りますとおっしゃるかたがあり期待していなかったお答えにびっくりしました。

シャル君はよく調教されているし、おとなしいし、フレンドリーだし安心して乗れるかと思います。

シャル君が愛されているとおもい幸せな気持ちになりました。

As the hot summer gradually approaches, both Sharu-kun and I are very sensitive to the heat.

Insect-repellent nets and mosquito coils are essential items. And of course, an electric fan, too.

In July, I have to renew my driver’s license on my birthday. Before that, I was required to attend a senior driver safety course.

There were no particular issues, and I was praised for having good and elegant driving skills.

I try to avoid driving  in the bad weather, at night, or in crowded areas as much as possible.

My car is almost entirely for going to see Sharu-kun. It’s very convenient to drive from my home in Aobadai, which is 51 kilometers away, to Miura.

The other day, I casually wondered aloud what I would do if, for some reason, I could no longer drive to see Sharu-kun. To my surprise, someone responded, “I’ll take him in,” which I hadn’t expected at all.

Sharu-kun is well-trained, calm, and friendly, so I think she felt confident that he’d be easy to ride.

It made me happy to know that Sharu-kun is loved.
