According to sources concerned,the government will adopt for the first time the open-source-type OS(oerating system),which is open to its software-design information,in the information system which would become a core of the system the government aims to make in order to further promore e-government.Specifically, it intends to integrate separate systems,which individual municipalities, ministries or agencies have used independently up to now, and as its first step, wil set up its system opearting base in Okinawa.And the U.S. Sun Microsystems' OS will be introduced there.
