Hi there! Jun Tomioka again!
Yesterday, I conducted a business training for managers.
The topic was ‘Coaching’.
Coaching is one of communication skills needed to train staff
but it’s different from teaching.
You use skills such as ‘listening’, ’asking’,
‘acknowledgement’, to bring out your staff’s motivation.
You have to be careful not to give your staff some advice.
You only help them make their decision.
Maybe, coaching is difficult for you because you have your decision
from your experience.
You have to wait for your staff’s intention even if you
want to say something.
