By June 27, the LDP Special Mission Committee on Sexual Minority compiled its report, which outlines the direction for amendment of the "Act on Special Provisions for Handling Gender for People with Gender Identity Disorder," which stipulates the requirements for gender-conversion.
In light of the Supreme Court decision last October that ruled that the fertility requirement was unconstitutional, the report has proposed to remove the fertility requirement and new requirement replacing the appearance requirement should be stipulated.
The report was submitted to the party Policy Research Council Board meeting on that day.
