【昼ラテ！】JSDC初開催✨平日お昼のラテン練習会

昨日はJSDC初となる

**「平日お昼のラテン練習会〜昼ラテ〜」**を

開催しました！

お忙しい中ご参加くださった皆さま、

本当にありがとうございました💃🕺

たくさんの美味しいドリンクやお料理、

スナックの持ち寄りにも感激✨

おかげさまで、ゆったり楽しく、

エクサイティングでチャレンジングな

時間になりました❣️

今回トライしたのは…

✔️ スイング

✔️ サルサ

✔️ ルンバ

✔️ バチャータ

✔️ チャチャ

＋ナイトクラブ、ハッスルにも挑戦‼️

さらにラテン種目ではありませんが、

アルゼンチンタンゴにもミニチャレンジ✨

初めての方も含め、

全員がフロアに出てくれたこと、

とっても嬉しかったです☺️

普段はフォロワーの方が

リーダー役に挑戦してくださったのも

感動しました！🥹❤️

アメリカンラテンでは

「レッスンなしの即興って難しい〜！」

「普段できるのに突然できなかった〜！」

という声もありましたが…

それも全部、素敵な気づきと経験✨

即興で踊るには“場慣れ”が必要なんです。

少しずつ一緒に慣れていきましょう☺️

【Lunchtime Latin!】JSDC’s First-Ever Weekday Latin Practice Session 🌞✨

Yesterday, we hosted JSDC’s very first

“Weekday Lunchtime Latin Practice – Lunchtime Latin!”

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us despite your busy schedules 💃🕺

We were so touched by all the delicious drinks, dishes,

and snacks that were generously brought in ✨

(*We forgot to take photos—nooo! 😭)

Thanks to you all, the atmosphere was relaxed, fun,

exciting, and a little bit challenging—in the best way❣️

Here’s what we danced…

✔️ Swing

✔️ Salsa

✔️ Rumba

✔️ Bachata

✔️ Cha Cha

Plus, we gave Nightclub and Hustle a try‼️

And although it’s not a Latin dance,

we also had a mini challenge with Argentine Tango ✨

Even first-timers stepped out onto the floor,

and seeing everyone join in made me so happy ☺️

Some of our usual followers even stepped up as leaders—

and that really moved me! 🥹❤️

As for American Latin dances…

🗣 “Improvising without a lesson is hard!”

🗣 “I usually dance this just fine, but suddenly I couldn’t!”

Those comments came up—and they’re totally valid!

But all of that is part of the experience ✨

Dancing freestyle takes practice and familiarity with the setting.

Let’s build that confidence together, little by little☺️

🕺 During the final 30 minutes of freestyle time,

we took requests for your favorite dances!

Some feedback from our participants:

🗣 “Argentine Tango used to feel mysterious,

but I’m really getting into the music! That unique sway is so cool!”

🗣 “Most dance events are at night or on weekends,

but I’d love to keep coming if they’re on weekday afternoons!”

✨ The next session will be held on

Tuesday, July 29, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM!

Next time, we’ll shorten some of the songs,

and yes—we’ll make sure to add more sparkly lighting 🌈

We’re aiming to create a space where both leaders and followers

can feel safe and comfortable dancing freely.

Even if you’re both new to a dance,

with mutual respect, you can share a beautiful dance together ✨

We are thrilled to announce that the Senior Demo Class

has received the prestigious Brilliant Award! 🎉✨

This was their third appearance in the Formation Project.

After receiving the Heartful Award for the past two years,

they’ve now stepped up to win an even greater honor!

That makes it three consecutive years of awards—what an achievement! 👏👏👏

The class is led by Ms. Kumiko alongside Mr. Yoshi Yano,

and here is a heartfelt message from Kumiko:

8人の凛とした姿が

スポットライトに照らされた瞬間、

客席からは思わず「わぁ、素敵！」と

感嘆の声がこぼれました。

現代的な選曲や振付が目立つチームが多い中、

JSDCシニアデモチームが選んだのは、

クラシックの名曲――ヨハン・シュトラウス作曲「美しき青きドナウ」。

王道ともいえるウィンナーワルツを、

あえてアメリカンスタイルで魅せるという、

粋でクラシカルな選択でした。

観客の中には、

普段から競技会でウィンナーワルツを踊る

ダンサーの姿も。

そんな彼らからも、

「こんな表現や踊り方があるんだ！」

という声があがり、

社交ダンスの新たな可能性を

感じさせる瞬間となりました。

[Senior Demo Class – A Stunning Performance‼️]

As eight poised dancers stepped into the spotlight,

an audible “Wow, how wonderful!” escaped from the audience.

While many teams showcased modern music and choreography,

the JSDC Senior Demo Team chose a classical masterpiece:

“The Blue Danube” by Johann Strauss.

Choosing to perform this iconic Viennese Waltz

in the American Style was a refined and elegant decision—

a fusion of tradition and flair.

Among the audience were dancers

who regularly compete in Viennese Waltz competitions.

Even they were impressed, saying:

“I never knew you could express it this way!”

It was a moment that revealed

a new dimension of possibility in ballroom dance.

今日はシニアデモチームの

「美しき青きドナウ」を

フォーマルのコスチュームで披露し、

盛り上がりました。

後、デモチーム男性からのシャンペンで

皆で乾杯となりました。

たくさんのミニレッスンを行いました。

フリーダンスでは女性が少なく

女性は珍しく休みなく踊っていました。

皆さん十分にダンスを楽しまれました。
