「レッスンも本番も最高に楽しかった。友達とダンスを踊れたことが何よりの思い出」
さわやかな春の午後、新郎新婦のKenichiさんとYokoさんは、二人のファーストダンスの後、ご披露宴会場のガーデンでゲストの皆さんとダンスを楽しみました。
ファーストダンスの本番は緊張というより、みんなの驚く顔が早く見たくてとってもダンスを楽しめたそうです（嬉しいです）♪
お写真でも、リラックスして華麗なダンスをご披露頂いたこと、本当によく分かります！
お二人のダンスの後はJSDCから講師がパーティにお邪魔して、ゲストの皆さんと一緒にダンスレッスン
皆さん、お祝いムードいっぱいで、講師もうれしくなってしまいました

サマーパーティ続き Summer Pary Review continued..!

遅くなりましたが、サマーパーティの続きです♪
スタッフは、夏祭りのイメージでロゴ入りのはっぴを着用☆
生徒、ゲストの皆さんは浴衣やアロハ、サマードレスととってもカラフルな夏の装いでした
初心者用ペアダンスレッスンの他、日舞の先生による本格的盆踊りの練習、フリーダンスタイムではツイストタイムも盛り上がりました。

At the party, staff members were wearing HAPPI coat, and students and guests were dressed in beautiful, colorful Yukata, summer dresses, aloha, etc...
We all enjoyed mini-pair dace lessons, Bon dance lesson by Nichibu masters, and free dance time with 'twist' time with rock'n roll music numbers!

「スウィング！」でばったり Swing Reunion

こんばんは、ヨシ矢野です。８月１２日、ブロードウェイショー「スウィング！」を観に渋谷オーチャードホールへ行きました。
日本公演初日とあって、テレビなどでもお馴染みの有名人がたくさん。
幕が開くのを楽しみに、パンフレットをパラパラ眺めながら待っていると、主演の顔写真に見覚えが・・・！
１５年前、アメリカでミュージカル「ANYTHING GOES」で共演したチャールズ（チャーリー）でした。
会場にいた関係者に確認してみると、そこにたまたまいた彼の奥さんが「YOSHI　」と、すぐに思い出してくれ（彼女も当時共演者の一人でした）、公演後にバックステージで懐かしの再会を果たしました！
滞在中にお互いスケジュールが合えば、ランチでもと話しました。

Hello, it's Yoshi.
On August 12th, I went to Orchard Hall in Shibuya to see musical 'Swing!'
Since it was the first stage in Japan, I saw a lot of celebrities in the audience.
Waiting for the curtain to open with the program brochure, I found a familiar face in the book.
It was Charles(Charlie), who I worked together with 15years ago in the musical 'Anything Goes' in the US.
During the intermission, I ran into his wife (she was also in the performance 15 years ago!), and she quickly remembered me.
After the whole show, I was invited to the backstage to see him and we finally met and I congratulated him for the first stage in Japan!


　

さて、肝心のショーの内容ですが、リフトいっぱいで素晴らしかったです。
JSDTの作品もたくさん同じ動きを取り入れています。
将来はＪＳＤＴもオーチャードホールでショーを行いたいと思います！

As for the show itself, it was wonderful with tons of acrobatic lifts and moves.
Japan Social Dance Theater will also perform at Orchard Hall in the future!

太極拳より社交ダンス Dancing beats Tai-Chi？

ちょっと前まで、中国の朝のシーンといえば「太極拳」のイメージ。
最近、旅行者が目撃するのは、朝も夜も公園で社交ダンスを楽しむたくさんの人々
どんどん都市化が進んで、以前に比べて人との交流も少なくなって来ているので、これが貴重な社交の場になっているのかも♪
楽しそうで、すごく健康的です！！

Tai-chi has been the most popular morning activity in China, but dancing might be replacing its position.
A lot of tourists now witness a big crowd of people dancing ballroom in the morning and at night in the parks.
Dancing surely helps people to meet and interact more actively in big cities. It looks fun and wholesome!

時計が出来ました New JSDC Clock

JSDCのロゴ時計が出来たよ
素朴～なデザインがとってもマッチするマーブル板で出来てます♪
。。。というのも、ＪＳＤＣロゴのデザインをお願いした先生は、マーブル板に素敵な絵をデザインして時計を作る時計デザイナーさんです。
昨年のある日、渋谷で展示会をしていた先生の所で友人へのプレゼント（名前＆誕生日入り時計）を買ったのが、先生との最初の出会いでした！
先生のお人柄や作品が大好きになり、その後、各地の展示会や作品製作に御忙しい先生を追っかけて、新スタジオ用の大きな時計、ロゴ、そして今回はロゴ時計を作って頂く事に
スタジオにサンプルがありますので手にとってご覧下さい！間もなく販売します☆

JSDC original clock is almost ready!!
The clock is made of marble board with handpainted JSDC logo.
The secret is that our logo designer is also a popular marble board clock designer
I first met her last year, when I was shopping for my friend's birthday.
She was doing her clock exhibits in Shibuya and I fell in love with one of her clocks (& her personality!) at the moment I steped into this nice and small space filled with colorful clocks.
Even after getting this beautiful clock for my friend that day, I continued visiting her wherever she had her new exhibit, to talk her into making a big clock for the JSDC new studio, the logo, and now, this original clock.

ブライダルコーディネータ-講座で at Wedding Planner Course

「ブライダルダンスってこんなに楽しいものだったんだ」ブライダル業界のプロたちも感動

社団法人日本ブライダル事業振興協会（BIA)が毎年主催する、ブライダルコーディネーター養成講座。
ブライダル業界の各分野の第一線で活躍する講師陣による講義やワークショップによって構成されるこの８日間講座、参加者の殆どが既にベテランのブライダルコーディネーターというハイレベルの内容とのこと
今年も東京と関西地区で開催され、両会場で、JSDCのヨシ矢野が「ブライダルダンス＆パーティダンス」の講座を担当したよ
コーディネータの皆さんにはワルツとメレンゲに挑戦して頂きました！
日常生活でペアダンスへの馴染みが薄いせいか、以前から「結婚式にダンスを取り入れましょう！」という声はあったものの、なかなかそれが実現しなかったのが日本のブライダル業界。
今後更にたくさんの業界プロフェッショナル達がダンスを身近に感じることで、日本のウエディングにダンス革命を起こしそうです
コーディネーターの皆さん、熱心に取り組んで頂き本当にありがとうございました

Yoshi Yano from Japan Social Dance Club taught dancing (waltz and merengue) to experienced wedding planners at the Bridal Coordinator Certificate Course offered in Tokyo (Aug.4th) and Osaka(Aug.7th) by Bridal Industry Association.
Compared with many other popolar western wedding customs, such as wedding gowns and wedding cakes, 'wedding dance' has not been successfully imported in Japanese wedding industory in the past.
This dance experience must have given new hints to the course participants to create more sophisticated and fun parties in the future, which might lead wedding revolution in Japan!!

子供社交ダンスと学習意欲 Ballroomdancing & Reading

アメリカでは、子供達のための社交ダンスプログラムが盛んで、様々な学習効果（他教科にもいい影響！）を生んでいると報告されているけど、これもそのひとつ♪

Quite a few studies show that ballroom dancing programs for teenagers have great influences on their learning process of a variety of subjects.

「社交ダンスの効果といえば、姿勢がよくなり、振る舞いが上品になったり、自分に自信が出たり・・・というのが一般的な考え。
でも、ここNYのベイサイドにあるクイーンズ図書館では、社交ダンスが『読み書き』力向上へつながった♪
図書館で実施した社交ダンスプログラムで学ぶことの素晴らしさを感じた子供達が、殆ど全員、夏の『読書講座』に申し込むことに

プログラムでは、タンゴやサルサなど色々な種目を通して、ステップだけでなく、スムーズにパートナーと部屋に入る、優しくダンスに誘う、などのエチケットも教え、子供達にとって社交ダンス自体が素晴らしい経験に。

関係者はこれからも是非社交ダンスプログラムを続けていこうと検討中！」



今回のプログラムでは、殆どが女の子だったけど、みんなに男性役・女性役の両方を教えて、子供達がウチで両親にダンスを教えたり出来るようになってたって

JSDCでも日本の子供達に社交ダンスの楽しさを伝える試みはじめてますよ！

「スウィング！」もうすぐ来日 Musical 'Swing!' coming soon

お待ちかねのブロードウェイミュージカル「スウィング！」の来日公演も間近となりました。
2002年の東京初公演以来、２度目の来日だよ！東京公演は今月１２日からで９月には名古屋、大阪と続きます♪
チケットの手配を忘れてた！！と言う方、まだ間に合いそうだよ。

One of the most popular Broadway dance shows 'Swing!' is finally coming back to Japan this summer, after their 1st performance in Tokyo in 2002!
2008 Japan tour starts on August 12th, in Tokyo, followed by Nagoya and Osaka in September.

8月3日（日）ジャパンソーシャルダンスシアター（ＪＳＤT)が、せんがわおらほ夏祭りでスウィング/リンディホップを披露したよ！
応援に来て下さった皆さん、本当にありがとうございました。

Japan Social Dance Theater (JSDT) performed one of their Swing/Lindyhop numbers at Sengawa Oraho Summer Festival on Sunday, August 3rd.

びっくりブライダルダンス現象？ Surprise First Dance Trend

ＪＳＤＣでは、日本の結婚式でも欧米のようなファーストダンス（結婚式で新郎新婦が初めて夫婦として踊るダンス）を取り入れて欲しいという願いを込めて「ブライダルダンスⓇ」を数年前から紹介し続けているよ♪

日本では、まだまだ結婚式で新郎新婦がダンスを踊るだけで、十分「サプライズ！」なイベント。
本場アメリカなどでは、最近「フツウ」に踊るだけではモノ足らないみたい。
しっとり系の曲が途中で激し～★曲に変わってダンスもコミカルに！・・などの「サプライズファーストダンス」が流行しているよ！

In Japan, dancing could be a big surprise at weddings (still?).
But at the places where first dace has been a long tradition, like the US, your guests would expect something more than 'regular' romantic slow dance these days.
'Surprise Fist Dance' is now a trend... maybe not a 'surprise' anymore!

ラテンワークショップ Latin Workshop

たった今、渋谷プライベートスタジオにてラテンワークショップ～シャイン第二弾～終了しました！
お越頂いた皆さん本当にありがとうございました＆かっこよかったです！
10パターンのサルサシャインをしっかりマスターするまでたくさん練習しました♪
サルサを踊るのが益々待ち遠しくなりそうです

We just finished Latin Workhsop -salsa shines- at Shibuya private studio
Thank you so much to everyone who joined the workshop & your shines now look perfect!!!!
This workshop featured 10 basic patterns of popular salsa shines and we practiced all of them by breaking them down into pieces, in order to let the patterns naturally sink in.
Pleasae try out what you've learned in class, when you next go out to the club!
