Hi there! It’s Jun Tomioka again!
Now, I am reading a book entitled ‘Inspirational Proverbs
and Sayings’.
I found an interesting proverb out of them.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
It means;
The person who speaks up gets what he or she wants.
I don’t know a Japanese proverb similar to this one.
I know there is a Japanese proverb which has an opposite meaning.
It’s ‘Derukui wa utareru’.
It means that the person who insists his opinion strongly
will be beaten.
I thought there is a difference in culture between Japan and
western countries.
