新年会の件 The New Year's party

　先日にお知らせした小さな喫茶店で開催する新年会の話です。
　最終締め切り日に、更にお一人が欠席という連絡がありました。グッと増えかけてスッと減った事で少々物寂しい気分になってしまいました。
　ただ、１０４大隊からNO最先任上級曹長が隊長代行として出席されるのが楽しみです。
　下士官を束ねる役職として、部隊の馬力のかけ方がこの先任の胸先三寸で決まるという。
　数年前にも、NU最先任上級曹長が来てくれた時があった。
　今回は、マニア的な人が少なかろうと思えるので話が出来そうと言う訳で楽しみなのです。
　NA副団長とお客様はお二人としておこうかな？それだけの呟きです。

「竹の瓦」記事

　17日の日経新聞夕刊記事である。
　モノごころヒト語りと言うコラムがある。
　“そもそも瓦のアイデアがいかに生まれたかのかは案外明らかにされていない”“竹で屋根を葺く仕組みと機能性が粘土で焼く「瓦」へ展開したと考えるべきではないかと思い付いた”そうだ。
　竹を半分に割り、上下に組み合われば、確かに屋根に降る雨水をそのまま軒先へと落とし込む構造になる。

　「瓦（かわら）」が、寺院という構造物と共に東アジア大陸から朝鮮半島を経て伝わってきた事から、朝鮮では「キワッ」と言い、日本ではそれを受け継いで「かわら」と呼ぶ。元々は漢語である。
　だから、それ以前に雲南地方シーサンパンナの少数民族では何と呼び、ラオス北部の小屋の竹葺きをどう呼んだのか？写真ではインドネシア・トラジャ族の穀倉の竹葺き屋根が紹介されてあったが、その部族での呼び名は何か？
　例え現代語ではあっても、それを知りたいのだが残念ながらそれへの言及はない。武蔵野美術大学の先生ゆえに建築上の研究興味対象なのであって、それぞれの場所での呼び名への関心を呼ばないのは仕方の無い事ではあるが。
　しかし、「かわら」の語源を知り得る伝なのだ。かゆい所に手が届きかけてあと少し足りないもどかしさに目をしかめてしまった。残念！

地味な！

　「第１０４施設直接支援大隊」の事である。
　この大隊の存在は本当に“地味”なのである。
　この大隊を知って始めに抱いた感想がそれだ。

　どだい、施設という部隊自体がそんな存在である。外国の軍隊では工兵部隊なのだ。

　が、工兵部隊たる施設部隊を更に支えるのが直接支援という部隊である。
　「縁の下の力持ち」の基礎に当たる礎石かな？
　この大隊自体が、先日述べたように各所に分かれて活動している、と言うか大隊を作ってそれらを束ねて存在していると言うべきかも知れない。
　
　１０４大隊は創設１４周年目だが、知った時は９周年目だった。
　丁度、競技会開催するので見学するならどうぞという機会で見た光景は、クレーンでドラム缶を上げ下げしているのと、ブルドーザーの土をかく部分（先日聞いたのにもう名前を忘れてしまった）の取り外しそして取り付け。
　酷い肩こりを起こしそうな程に無茶苦茶寒い日で、身が縮み上りそうな中、取り組んでいる姿は何の面白味もないと言っちゃ言い過ぎだろうけど、事実ワクワクする訳はない。

　がだしかし、寒さに震えながらよーく見てみると技量の差と思われる動きが見て取れる。
　へっ！？と思ったが、班によっては手順が微妙に違っているらしい事は分かった。

　側の土手部分で各班の応援団が旗を振って、おっさん声や兄ちゃん声を張り上げて声援を送っていたのはいつまでも新鮮な記憶である。

　その地味さ故に、私はこの大隊が好きなのだ。絶対に必要な存在だけれど決して目立つものでは無いという存在が似ているからなのかも知れない。

年間予定

　大げさな題名をつけて、大方の人達の関心を引きつけておきながら中身がなくてがっかりさせるのも気が引けるので、このような「年間予定」と。
　
　「練習艦隊歓迎の夕べ」案内状が来た。これをタイトルとするとその系統の方の関心を引くだろうけれど、それは本意ではない。単に、季節が移ろいゆくと感じたまでである。

　この案内状が来ると“あ～、春が近づいてきた”と実感する。
　少々の個人的感覚で以て表現すると、“菜の花の香りと匂いがする”気がするのだ。

　会場である都ホテル大阪の大広間で、音楽と歓声、拍手に包まれて課程を終えたばかりの海上自衛隊幹部候補生達が入場してくる。ずらり揃った雛壇に若々しい顔が見える。
　アトラクションとして、宝塚歌劇団の女性三人が華やかな歌を脳天に響くような声を張り上げて歌う。

　歓迎祝賀会場には、陸上自衛隊と違って海上自衛隊に馴染んだ顔は殆ど無い。彼らの任務仕事の性格上、地面に腰を据えてという職種が少ないのだから、時に顔を合わせて酒杯を傾けるという機会は少ない。
　しかもその上に、海の人は比較的多くある機密のせいか仲間以外の人間には寡黙なのだ。

　知り合った時に潜水艦の擬装中として二年ほど酒を飲み、基地司令であった時に二度基地を訪問したという付き合い方をした人が居た。
　その彼が、やがて定年となるときにふと口にした言葉を忘れる事が出来ない。“家を建てて以来、初めて家内と一緒に住むんです”と。
　二度年賀状を受け取ったあと音信不通になってしまった。

言うべき言葉

　昨日夕刻、眼達原駐屯地のヘリコプター事故の速報を目にして一瞬知り合いが？と。
　操縦士の名前に、三年前の「京都五山送り火の会」に来てくれた飛行隊長かと思ってしまったのだ。下の名前は一文字だったので、違う人だという事が分かった。と言っても、事故（恐らくは）に遭われた事には違いなく、まことに傷ましく思うのみである。
　避ける余裕など無いという程のいきなりの墜落映像を見て絶句してしまった。この後に続けるべき言葉を書いては消し、書いては消しして、言うべき適当適切な言葉が見つからない。中途半端な憶測や意見は述べるべきではないと思うからである。

「北斗会」新春懇親会

　時期としてはいささか遅くなってしまうのだけれど、今月２４日（土）午後４時から本会の新年会を開きます。場所はくずはトップセンター前の「ミ・ロール」。会費は４千円。
　どなたでも来て下さいと言えると気楽な同好会の集まりになってしまうが、そうも行かないのが悩みどころである。
　本会は会員又は自衛隊からの紹介がないと原則として入れない仕組みになっているのだ。試しに呼びかけてみた事があるけれど、どなたも反応がなかった。
　勿論、前日までの１０４大隊のお誘いもそうではあろうが、どうだろうという思いで再び試して見た次第である。

　さて、昨日は昨年末に師団長着任のTA陸将が久しぶりに拙宅に。３年ぶりかな？航空隊司令の時代には、任期２年４ヶ月の間に平均して２ヶ月に一度の来宅であった仲なのだ。
　積もる話に喋りすぎた疲れがむしろ心地よく残っている。

Though it becomes a little late, the New Year's party of this meeting is held as a time at 4 p.m. on the 24th (Sat) this month.

Well, yesterday, after a long time, TA land General of the division head arrival, at the end of last year, in ｍｙ house.
Is it after an interval of three years?
It averages it in its term two four months, and they are the terms of one time in 2 months which were the next house in the age of the flying corps command.
The fatigue which it talked about in the story which grew too much is rather left comfortably.

　懇親祝賀会で出た酒のメニューです。
　各分屯地や縁のある土地の酒です。尤も「瑞泉」は沖縄出身者隊員が寄越してくれたものです。
　形の不揃いな猪口に全種類の酒を注いで貰って、チビリチビリと飲みました。それぞれに違う味がします。スッキリとして味わえたのは「美」とあるやつ。馴染みある「瑞泉」はいつもの味。ん、よしよしという安定感あり。スルメだけで弁当には手をつけず飲んで、隣の大隊長と話をして時間があっという間に過ぎてしまった。
　さて、「いいね」も含めて何も反応無いのは仕方が無いか！倦まず弛まず、ボチボチと活動続けます。
　演習の見学会お誘いは、３月始めの頃のになります。見学希望者は「北斗会」に連絡をどうぞ！

陸上自衛隊 第４施設団 第１０４施設直接支援大隊 競技会の続き 自衛官募集支援「北斗会」報告

　これは隊員の装備品一式です。
　この後、これらを背負ってみました。背嚢の重量は１０㎏と１５㎏の二種がありました。ずっしりと重い！
　もう遙かに昔の青春時代に背負って山に登っていた時の感触を思い出しました。
　ヘルメットをかぶってあご紐を引くと気も引き締まりました！
　ただ、防弾チョッキに胸と背をギュッと締め付けられると走りにくいなと言う感想はあります。そうかぁ、こんな風に着脱は素早く出来るようになってるんだと。
　体感実感した次第です。

　我々「北斗会」だけでは勿体ないこの見学会であるので、より広く自衛隊を応援する人達に見に来てもらえれば良いと思った訳です。

　どっしりと構えた格好のクレーン車後部。
　実際の所として、これが一番必要とされるだろうという車両です。何故という疑問は実際の戦闘場面から想像して貰えれば理解されるかと思います。
　戦闘中にではなく、その直後といえる場面です。吊り下げられる能力はクレーンの鍵フック部分に書いてありますので見られる機会に注視して下さい。

第１０４施設直接支援大隊 競技会の続き 自衛官募集支援「北斗会」報告

　夏期に行われる富士山麓での「総合火力演習」（略称）「総火演」のやや後半部分に見られる車両だ。
　爆発力を以て勢いよく直線的に梯子状の網が飛び出す。網の各箇所に爆薬が装着されてあって、網が着地すると同時に爆発し、その弾みで仕掛けられてある地雷を爆発させ無くするというものである。
　地雷原に網をかぶせる要領で一帯を掃除する訳だ。
　延々と仕掛けられてあれば、それはそれで繰り出していくしか手はないだろうが、主力部隊が前進する時には必須とは言えるだろう。
