2014年、83歳で他界した俳優、高倉健のエッセイ。無口で多くを語らない健さんのイメージがあるが、2000年にかけてラジオ番組をもっていたとのこと。このエッセイ集はそのラジオ番組のトークがベースになっている。
仕事の合間に石垣島や西表島でダイビングしたり、隠れ家レストランでディナーしたりする健さんはどこか微笑ましい。イタリアの街を旅する健さんはやはり格好いいが、京都でもシブイ。基本的に日本と日本人が好きだ。
自分の中の高倉健は、やはり『幸せの黄色いリボン』である。愛情を庭いっぱいのハンカチで表す妻とそれを無言で受けとめる夫。。。泣かせる。
もちろん、本当の健さんがどんな男だったのか誰も知るよしがないが。

Ken Takakura passed away last year at the age of 83. Although he has been loved as an actor by many people not just in Japan but of many Asian countries, his personal life have been hidden for long time. Clearly, he wanted to keep his image on the screen rather than disclosing his personal life, thinking, attitude, etc. to public through media.
In this book, compiled based on a radio program where he spoke as the radio program personality, Ken Takakura talked about what he experienced during his trips for films or private, so we can grasp his thinking, emotion, a little by little.
Of course, nobody would never eternally know how Ken-san really is in his private life. He brought that to the heaven with him, in order to let us keep his images on the screen...
