Greetings again from Rebecca the Australian.

Yesterday, I accompanied Deco and Hatabou to Tokyo for the Natural Sweet Cooking Class. It was a long train trip from Brown's Field, and after arriving, we visited a great little organic shop where Deco used to work when she was younger.

Then we went to the school where the class was to be held, where we wore some clunky pink plastic slippers and prepared ingredients for the students. Like Hatabou, it was my first time assisting a class with Deco, but soon found that when it comes to food, language is no barrier! Dish-washing is also a universal language...!

As I had assisted in cooking classes when working for the Kushi Institute in the Netherlands, it was interesting as always to see how Deco taught and what kind of people came to such a health-oriented class. A group of twenty women who were so enthusiastic to be there, some couldn't even wait for the class to begin before diving in to the recipes! Deco has some magic about her - after speaking to some of the students as they tasted what they had made that afternoon, they happily referred to other cooking classes they'd attended in the past and recounted visits to Brown's Field, telling how much they enjoyed it.

The food made that day was absolutely devoured by the ladies, the hommus was much sought after, as were the nuka-raisin cookies.

Though a miserable day outside, and undertaking such a long journey to make the class happen, it was great to be involved. Many thanks to Deco for having me along for the ride!
