He had great movement on his split-fingered pitch and two-seam fastball. He seemed buoyant on the mound, kind of bouncy and it showed that he absolutely was in a tremendous place with his repertoire and his confidence as a major league pitcher.

Those who have watched him pitch in Japan over the years have commented that America has yet to see the best of Matsuzaka. Now you understand what they mean. There appears to be a gem waiting to come out of his powerful right arm and he keeps coming close.
