SOLID and SMOOTH

井口、フィリーズに登場、パイレーツ戦でさっそくsolidな仕事をしたようですね（桑田は打たれましたが）。

フィリーズの掲示板で、ホワイトソックスファンがフィリーズファンに井口をほめています。井口はホワイトソックスでファンにもっとも親しまれていた一人だったと思います。好感をもちましたので、原文で恐縮ですが、ちょっと紹介します。

White Sox fan here. ........show the 'Guch' (Iguchi) more respect. Yes, he's hitting only .251 this year. But he's been a solid .280+ hitter the last 2 seasons. You call Rowand a great player. So I need to inform you that it was Iguchi whom WSox mgt. and the PLAYERS themselves referred to as the White Sox MVP in 2005 when we won it all. Ask Rowand himself? Is he as good as Utley? Answer: No . Reason: Chase Utley is the best in all of baseball. Hey, btw, Utley's understudy, Placido Polanco, hasn't done bad for the Tigers, has he? Two words describe Guch----SOLID and SMOOTH. Your getting a good player. A winner. ...Reasons we made trade: (1) He's a FA end of year (2) We have a kid (Danny Richar) who needs to be up in the majors now. A future star. A young 2nd baseman who was hitting .349 at AAA (Charlotte).

Something else......Iguchi is playoff experienced, playoff tested, and playoff tough...He single-handily beat Boston in game 2 of the AL division playoffs in '05 with that 3-run homer off David Wells. And played well throughout the playoffs.

投票率をあげたい

貴重な１票、大切に行使を＝菅総務相が談話 7月29日

　菅義偉総務相は２９日、参院選の投票日に当たり、「今回の選挙は今後のわが国の進路を方向付ける極めて重要な意義を有する。有権者には、貴重な１票を大切に行使されるよう切望する」との談話を発表した。

たしかにそうだ。
所得格差、国ー地方の格差が拡大し、
地方、国をあわせた財政赤字が１０００兆円を超えた余裕のない状況で、
税金、年金保険料の運用を任せるに足る人々をよく見極めたい。

どういう人々が信頼に足るかは、これまでの実績でみるしかあるまい。
