大曲の花火競技会観覧に引っかけて、陸奥の旅に出る。ダブル台風が日本海を駆け上がるのを横目に見ながら上野から新幹線に乗り新白河で降りて、二度目の大内宿に入り藁葺き屋根の街道を散策。通り沿いは蕎麦屋と土産物屋が軒を連ねるが、一歩奥に入ったカフェで買ったスナックで小腹を満たす。続いて会津若松の鶴ヶ城天守閣にのぼり、雲に浮かぶ磐梯山や白虎隊が自刃した飯盛山を拝む。会津はどこも辛抱強い。「ならぬことはならぬ」のだ。
宿は秋保温泉の小高い丘の上に佇む篝火の宿緑水亭。泉質は抜群で露天風呂も風情あり。ツアーで泊まるのは惜しい。
翌朝、平泉の中尊寺金色堂に拝観。芭蕉も拝んだ世界遺産が山上に点在する。北上から錦秋湖経由で横手方面に一般道と高速道を走り、大曲に入るが、インター出口から渋滞。やっとたどり着いた駐車場から約１時間歩いて花火大会会場に到着。風向きが少し残念だったが雨には降られず、２時間半にわたる全国の花火師の競演を満喫する。故郷熊野市の花火大会以外でフルに間近で見るのは初めてだ。帰り道は人並みもクルマも出口規制とラッシュ。加えて秋田道で事故のため一般道を岩手の新鉛温泉を目指し午前2時前にチェックイン。温泉でひと浴びしてバタンキュー。翌朝、新花巻から猛暑の都心に帰る。
Joined a bus tour which combined a famous firework competition at Ohmagari, Akita, with other spots and hot springs in northern Japan.
The tour started from Ohuchi,-juku, or an old town for travellers, in Fukushima, which retains wooden houses with thatched roofs along the street. Then moved to Turugashima castle, which was heavily damaged by an anti-Tokugawa forces in pre-Meiji days and rebuilt in 1965 though not in an authentic manner
After staying one night at Akyuu hotspring inn,. north of Sendai, moved up to Hiraizumi, in Iwate, where we can see a golden temple with a lot of sculptures,which simbolizes an extream form of the Budism paradise.
Finally, reached to the Firework competition site in Ohmagari after heavy traffic jam and 60min. walk from the parking space. The firework competion and the show along the Omono river was spectacular. Each performance has an artistic theme and technical innovations, which were evaluated by proffesionals.
The return road was also a hectic one for walkers and drivers. Got to another hotspring inn near Hanamaki, Iwate, at 26 am.
